Hi all new here to this forum. I'm a 71 year old retiree. Live on the coast in what we call lower slower Delaware. I had a 96 Tahoe with a locker rear, which you couldn't stick. Got just to many miles on it and it was starting to penny pinch, so I sold it for parts to a friend. I found a 2003 Toyota Tundra with only 57,000 miles so I bought it. Dealer tried to sell me a new one. He said at your age don't you think you oh your self a new truck. I asked if he had listened when I told him my age and if he was going to pay for it. That ended that. I told him, I'm a realist, this truck will still be running when I'm on the underside of the dirt. Happy with the truck so far except for the light back end. Its been years since I've had a pickup. This truck with the v8 pulls my boats and its much easier to throw my kayak in the bed in stead of fighting to get it on top of the Tahoe. What I don't like is you just spite of the road and the tires brake. We just had 14 inches of snow two weeks ago and I only made it 10 feet in my drive way before it got stuck. Who ever had it before me either didn't know anything about tires or put the cheapest ones he could buy to trade it. So I put 300 lbs in the bed over the axle. Till next fall when I'll change them out on a better set. Here's a few pictures. Oh my dog loves the truck, she's my baby and goes every where with me. She puts her butt on the back seat and lays on the console. She's a 83 lb. husky, so she is a big girl.

Thanks guys. I think I'll like it even better once I get a better set of tires on it. I did find out why it had low mileage. The manager at the dealer had it and only had to dive a few miles a day. Its also had all the recalls done on it. Being the manager made it easy to get them done right away. So I was happy about that. A two friends talked me into this truck. One has the same truck only a year older and the other has a 2015 Tacoma. Both guys love their trucks. So it didn't take me long to find this one and buy it.

Welcome from CO. They may have traded it with worn tires and the dealer slapped them on after.

I was a little concerned about the mileage. Their are ways to turn them back. But it came from a new car dealer and they wouldn't even try to do that. They just whole sale out high mileage cars and trucks. They keep the best to sell on their lots. I will be making a few changes later in the summer. I'll post on what in other threads, once I make up my mind as to what.

You guys from CO. I have a cousin, a nephew and a friend that live out their. Their in the Denver Fort Collins corridor. My nephew keeps trying to get me to come out that way because he knows how much I love fly fishing. But just haven't been able to get enough done to get the time to drive out their. But it is on my bucket list, maybe some day. And thank all of you for the well come. And you guys that said thanks for my service, thank you. It still taking me some time getting use to that. The well come we got coming home, well wasn't the thank you kind.
