What's the difference from front to rear? It looks really close.

I've went from 15.8 to 15.2 so not that much of a difference and that's 2 tanks of fuel.

It's pretty close. I think the back is barely higher.

You actually get about 360 lbs at the rear tires. I'm not surprised you felt a difference, by upgrading to that size tire you gained 1.6" of height and nearly 1.2" of tire width.

I purchased my truck with the urinal cakes leveling kit on the front. Would replacing them with the 5100's on the middle setting be a better option to achieve the same height? I appreciate the information as I am trying to learn more about the suspensions in these trucks.

Hold the Line! If you are not holding the line, abandon your ship. Destruction is inevitable without more to hold the line!
Where did you purchase the 5100s from. I have been looking around for the best price.

Depends on what your looking for in height and ride quality. The spacer lift works and it's keep but from what I did research on you loss some ride quality. Other people like them and they are really cheap. It's really personal opinion. Me personally I wouldn't put a spacer on anything when you can spend $200-$300 more and get and upgraded shock and not loose factory ride quality.

If I remember correctly, Bilsteins specs are 1.71" on the middle setting and 2.58" on the top setting. Depending on the height of the spacers that are in there now and if you're satisfied with the current height, that will kind of determine where you'd want to set the 5100's. If you go to the top setting you'll want to do differential drop spacers. The ride quality should be better with the 5100's.

the 5100 heights are a little bit different for the tundras. this is from toytec's website:
    • Adjustable in 3 positions for lift of .87", 1.57" or 2.28" (Adjustment required before assembly).

@benrichardson87 I just purchased 5100s for my 2018 Tundra. I also want to use the mid settings. Did you have to get a differential drop kit? Curious if I need to purchase anything else for the install.

No I didn't buy anything additional, I'm pretty sure you only need the diff drop if you go more than 3 inches of lift.

OK, I'm looking to get my stereo done, but am also looking hard at doing this as well. I think I'm going to get the 5100's from Amazon and a friend will help me with labor.

I'm leaning toward the top setting now which should pretty much level me out. I'm 36.5 in the front and 39 in the rear right now. I figure I can always add a 1" block later if I want some rake. Also, I'm 2 wheel drive so don't have to worry about the diff drop.
Depending on if I rent a spring compressor or try to find a shop to swap the springs for me, this should put me right in the same budget range as the Readylift spacer kit, but with a much better setup.

I like that setup! Is that the 5100s at the top setting in front with a 1 inch lift in the rear or what?

I've seen that some people add spacer shims to correct side lean when they put on 5100's, wouldn't those be bad like spacer lifts? Or is there something I'm missing here?

Ha. We're in the same boat. I need 3" on front and know I can achieve with the 5100s. I've seen plenty where people use the middle setting with two shims or the top setting with one. But same question, isn't that basically doing the same as a spacer????

Stock for now, but have TRD Rear Sway bar for it.
It is more of a shim than it is a spacer. I did 5100's with a single shim and went from 36" in front to 38" by using the middle setting. The rears are 39 1/2 pretty much, so then I added a second CB shim and now I am at a solid 38 1/2" in the front on both sides and 39 1/4 (ish) in the back and it looks perfect. The shim adds about 1/2 inch, yes, technically it is a spacer, but it only adds a little to the preload of the spring. It is a better option overall, however, for the money and running around town mostly, a spacer lift is generally fine and isn't going to kill or hurt anything, unless you go bajaing or rock crawling all the time.

The 5100's are great shocks and my shocks were garbage, so the ride was much better. I went months debating and researching on here before doing it and am happy with how it turned out. 5100's on middle setting and 2 CB shims on both front shocks. Nothing in the rear but new 5100's. Hope this helps.

Nothing in the rear, just stock height. I'd like to go to something like a 3/1 but I don't think I'd get in the garage.
