The stock stuff is not very good at illuminating left and right as I'm turning when it's dark, wet rainy. Headlights aren't particularly bright either.

I've seen some really nice stuff done by a number of you. If you are really happy with your headlights and fogs, please share with me.

    I wouldn't mind a blue/white tint, and I don't want yellow fogs.

This truck is used on very dark gravel roads in the mountains (shuttling my dirt bikes), but not any really serious heavy duty off road stuff.

    @1UPPER & @BlueBottle

I've flagged you two as a couple guys I've been thread following, and you've had some interesting lighting upgrades. I've followed the lead of BB for interior stuff, in the process of ordering interior and accessory lighting as we speak.

By all means, tell me what you think is your favorite idea for my front lighting please.

Once I'm all done with this, and the interior upgrades, I may do some sort of exterior lighting addition. But I'm going to try to keep my mod pace slow to moderate as I've learned from my crazy moto stuff that changing too much too quick is a good way to lose the big picture, waste money and time.

what you could do... 2018 headlights, 2018 fogs... both are LED but on the pricey side

otherwise retrofit HID projectors will do the trick

Do the 2018 Fogs cast a wider light by chance?

And if I took your suggestion, can I just go to the dealer and ask them to upgrade? Or, are there electrical modifications needed to make it work?

just sent this in a convo, but will post it here as well.

I have a good deal for you my friend! I upgraded to the 2018 headlights on my 2016 and am getting ready to trade that tundra in end of this month on a new 18 platinum. Here is what I have and rough cost:

2018 headlights- out of my NEW platinum, (so chrome interior shrouds)- never used- Retail $750+
harness for them to work with pre 2018 platinum or 1794 wiring $200
morimoto hid harness for the kit - $45
brand new 2018 led fog lights- $no idea

will sell all of that together, plug and play ready to go for $650 + shipping

IMO as far headlights upgrades go the new 18 LED headlights look great but a high quality projector is brighter and shines light farther. I have a few buddies who went with the 18 headlights and said they noticed less light output over the projectors. I'm sure they're other members who can give their own opinions.

For foglights I like the Baja Designs Sport fog lights. You can get them in the white output or yellow.

The NSV Auto hood bulge LED lightbar is very nice for those times when your off-road or on a long dark road. It definitely lights up the night. Since your truck has a roof rack I would consider on doing a 50" lightbar on the front edge of it. I would mount it with the round tubular mounts so your lightbar stays clear from anything you put on the rack.

I hope this helps with ideas.

Thanks! Is the Baja Designs product, fog lights, street legal? Rough idea on plug and play product cost?

Rago Fabrication is having a special on the Baja Designs fog lights, harness kit and the bracets for $375. I don't know if they are street legal since they are very bright.

I installed the Profile retros from eldobleu and really like them. A little pricey but worth it to me to be rid of the crappy Tundra headlights. Mine are evolution black. You could spend a little more and get the Morimotos. Nice white light and when I use with my led fogs I never use brights any more. Only time I turned on brights was just to test. Thought about Spyders but fitment issues and loss of adjustment motors scared me away. Also considered Anzos and Winjets.

I have rigid dot legal fogs. Bright white with a perfect cutoff. Maybe something to consider.
And I can say this. I'm sure the 18 led headlights are good but you can't beat the output of a good hid projector

I’d do the rigid led fog kit or morimoto led projectors if I had to choose.

There wasn’t much difference from my d2s retro to the 18s the projector I think may have been a little wider but I actually like the 18s more than the retro. That’s just me tho.

Longer list than the wife needs to know about....
18 headlights all the way. Def. less output than my HID kit, but also no longer getting flashed and don't have to worry about popping bulbs.
I'd jump on that setup offered above if I hadn't just done it.

As far as the BD fogs go. The Squadron Sports in wide cornering are still to bright to really run in traffic (unless you want to be a dick that's your call).
The Squadron Pros - no way you should run in traffic but if your in a rural area they are awesome!

I have the S2 Sports as my fog lights and Squadron Pros next to them when I'm out of traffic. Its not so much that they are "too bright" its more they don't have a clean cut off preventing glare to on coming traffic.

    Hope that helps.

The above offer was apparently conditional on the sale exchange of the current vehicle, so it's a "potential" option.

That's not accurate, I have the Spyder and the fit is perfect and I have stock leveling motors on the back of the headlights working just like they did stock. I am also running the street legal Rigid Industries duallys as fogs, the Rigid mounts leave a little to be desired as you either need to weld a gusset to there mount or add a bracket to stiffen them up and get rid of the jiggle. Here is an output shot of the smoked Spyder lights with 5500k 35w HID kit and the Rigid Industries SAE pattern fogs.

Personally I like the new 18 lamps, but I still like my retros with RX protectors, panamera shrouds and LED strips even more.

Some have stated they have had some minor issues with retros but mine have been perfectly fine.

I too like the 18s but prefer my retros better. I tested the 18 LEDs and wasn't overly impressed. (Looks fantastic, and better than halogen output) but compared to HID, they fell short. I went with the Anzo retros with GTR HID bulbs (lifetime warranty) with 55w ballasts (aimed properly), and have not been flashed once. No LED can match a quality HID, and that was ultimately the deal closer for which direction I was going. I matched the HID color with the GTR LED fogs @6k. .. awesome difference over stock. . I never use my high beams because I love how well the HID/Fog combo works. The guys at Headlight Revolution we're awesome at helping me with information and giving me a great deal on all my truck lighting, inside and out. I added their LED light bar and use that as my "high beams". Together, I can't ask for anything more out of my daily dark road driving.

    IMG_20180118_081952~2.jpg IMG_20180118_201142.jpg
^^^ HID lows with LED fogs
    IMG_20180118_201150.jpg
^^^ HID/Fog and "Sasquatch" LED light bar.

I didn't mind not having the level motors (never used them anyway), and not a factor in the big picture. So that switch was replaced with a "Sasquatch lights" switch, and voila... I can see!
    Hope this helps. IMG_20171016_182504743.jpg

I guess you were fortunate because a lot of people report fitment issues with Spyders. Yes I have heard that motors can be fitted to Spyders but not sure what is involved to do it.
