    Guys and gals,
Got a couple questions for you. I am looking to replace my headlight bulbs in my 2014 for something a little brighter, any bulbs in particular you recommend. My DRL look fine, almost LED like, but my headlights have a yellowish tint. I thought I read somewhere that the worse things someone could do is put LED bulbs in the stock housings, so I am looking for a brighter halogen bulb.

While I am at it, I may replace my fog light bulbs also. They currently seem ok, but with the recent very thick fog here in Northern California I am looking for a possible improvement.

    Thanks,
    Randy

These are what I’m running. Can vouch for output and minimal/no glare (I’ve driven past my truck from head on to verify).

I just ordered these yesterday for my truck. I've been wanting too do a LED upgrade but I was hesitant to spend that much money right now. Hopefully these are an improvement over the stock halogen lights

Do they connect to the original harness?

There’s another piece (I’m not sure what it is - resistor or something that gets mounted) but every thing connects to original harness.

How much brighter are these extreme white bulbs, compared to stock bulbs? I know the led bulbs are alot brighter. Just wanting to know about the normal bulbs, in extreme white.

Not sure if I still had stock bulbs, the truck is a 2010 and I'm the 2nd owner. But I will say that the ZXE's our considerably brighter and the color temperature is much higher than whatever was in there. I don't have anything scientific and I didn't do before and after shots. I just know that my old bulbs were yellowish/white and I wasn't impressed with the output.

I'm not convinced the LED technology is there just yet for a straight replacement bulb swap, I think the housing and projector have a lot more to do with the success of an LED than the actual bulb.

I think I got the ZXE's on Amazon with a coupon code and paid $45 for the pair. I've had good luck with silverstar ultras on previous vehicles and figured these would be a good step up. I was getting 3+ years on the ultras, hopefully these will be the same or better. I have a set of ultras in my Toyota Matrix right now that are going on 5 years. When those finally kick the bucket ZXE's will be going in there place.

Bilstein 5100s, Method Standard 18x9 +18 offset, 285/65R18 Toyo A/T2 Xtreme, trailer brake controller, bed liner, camper shell. All were on the truck at time of purchase.
I have the GTR Lighting Led kit for the tundra, bought it from headlightrevolution.com, and the beams are focused, have a pretty clean line where they stop on low beams, and I haven't been flashed by anyone else yet. Also since we have the autoadjusters you can easily tilt them a little farther downward if you like. Well worth the cost and they are direct plug and play type bulbs with a load resistor between them and the factory harness.

Where did you mount the LED driver that came with the kit?

I didn’t take any pics of my install, but I followed this to a T.
    http://www.tundratalk.net/forums/tu...dlight-bulb-review.html#/topics/603282?page=1

He has very detailed instructions and great photos. There’s a metal bracket behind the light assembly, where he mounted his. So I put mine there too. I used double sided 3m tape and zip ties.

One mod always seems to lead to another. I didn't have any complaint about the stock bulbs, but after installing LED strips, they looked too yellow. I went with Philips Crystal Vision (halogen). They are not perfectly white, but white enough to not to bother me. I installed them back in 2016 thinking that once these blow, I will get a set of LED bulb. But they are still working fine.

Here is stock light (in comparison to the LED light. See how yellow they look.

Here is a picture with Crystal Vision.

Do the ZXE's just replace the halogen bulbs? Nothing else needed?
