Pro Comp tires are rarely mentioned here. Maybe someone has bought a set and will chime in.

The manager at the local discount recommended that I go 285 70 18. He said it would fill out the the wheel well much better. About 40 dollars more than the 65 version. Can I run this size without issue?

Shouldn't have any problem. People run the 295s stock so 285s should be fine

Is it possible to run this lift on stock wheels on 35s?

Have to chime in. As much as it pains me to admit this since I was such a huge proponent of the RGs when I first bought them, I am not loving this tire. My first gripe is the weight. The LT275/70R18 Ridge Grappler is a VERY heavy tire. I instantly noticed a drastic loss in power in normal driving mode. I pretty much have to use tow/haul (ass) or beast mode every time i get in it. My second gripe is that they kind of suck on wet roads. I am slipping WAY EASIER than when I had my same size Duratracs. It's hard, because it is a beautiful tire and totally belongs on something as sweet as a Cement TRD Pro, but I think I would be better served with another set of Duratracs, or the Toyo A/T2 Extremes. Just my $.02.

I’m not sure if you would run into offset or rubbing issues to be honest. The Lift I got from Ready Lift was made for the TRD Pro so I could retain my stock suspension. They have the same lift for non TRD Pros but I’m not sure what all components are included in that lift package. When choosing my wheel I had to becareful with the offset so it would clear at full turn. I also added a bumper spacer so the front tires would not rub up front also. Sorry if that’s not much help.

I hear yea on the weight issue, just wonder how much a few pounds heavier on each tire hurt? (Often wonder this but never found or looked for any data.) Any one have answers?
Haven’t had any slipping experiences on wet roads.

I feel the amount of additional weight per tire is directly proportional to a few extra pounds in your stomach area. There is no exact science or data but we all know that there is a difference. Hahaha.

Toyo is top of the line, Nitto is the price point.... seems to me go with toyo. I have had 8+ sets of toyo at's, 3 or 4 of the at2's in that group- excellent tires. All the guys who work at les schwab here in boise all run the toyo over the nitto on their personal rigs, they say its a far superior tire with higher quality, warranty and materials.

I have a pro and really like how the lift looks. Not sure wife would approve wheels and lift at the same time. :argue:

These are E's and come in at 58 lbs. Had a chance to play in the snow today and they did well.

I've got the AT2's on my Tundra and have been satisfied but feel that they hydroplane little bit lately. I'm gonna try out the RG's next time.

I’ve only had the RG’s on for a little over a week, but am pretty impressed so far. They’re a little louder than the BFG Rugged Trail AT’s, but that’s to be expected with the more aggressive tread. They’re by no means what I’d call loud, even at highway speeds. Haven’t had the chance to off road em yet other than in a snowy pasture.

I've gotta agree with Tundrazy. I'm pulling my 295/7018 RG's off and putting a smaller, more lightweight tire on. I live in an area with lots of hills and I spin my RG's just about every time when starting from a stop in the rain and that's with tow/haul mode off. Snow performance hasn't been anything to get excited about either.

I also tow a travel trailer during the summer months and the additional weight of the 295's made a huge difference in my towing experience. I love the look of the RG's but the cons outweigh the pros for me.

Hello, newbie here and I’m looking at tires for my 2012 Tundra double cab SR5 4x4. I purchased it used and have had it a 1 1/2 years. It came with cooper at3 275/65-18 and they didn’t seem to wear very well. I’ve looked at several tires and here is what I’ve found. Toyo open country AT II, Kumho Road Venture AT51, BF Goodrich KO2, cooper ATP, Yokohama geolander AT, Falken WildpeakAT, and Hankook dynapro AT-M. I asked about the Nitto grappler at my local tire store and they said it’s one of the tires they have more complaints out of than other tires. Them and nexxen’s. Everyone here seems to love them. Also I wanted to know what is the largest I can go up in tire size without modifications. I hardly every go off road and usually it’s when I’m hunting strip pits and out onmuddy gravel roads or some dirt trails. Mostly road travel and looking mainly for winter. I own a business and have to drive employees into work and home. Some on sketchy back country roads. What’s everyone’s opinions. Thanks.

I ask everyone I see with lifted trucks big tires their experiences. So many by me run the Ridge grapplers and I would say 80% complain about the same thing, poor wet performance especially when its cold out, poor snow performance, and most have crazy amounts of weight to balance them. They all bought them for the looks and I agree they do look pretty good if anything a little over the top in the aggressive department for me.

I have not experience any of these issues with my RG. I drive a lot and have gone through several rain and winter storms with no problem at all. Granted still fairly new with 7K miles on them, but have been very happy with their performance.

I have had two sets of Toyo ATIIs one regular tread one set extreme, both sets required very little weight to balance and wore very evenly, I still have the extreme set on my JKU, 285/75/17s with over 30k miles, still very smooth on original balancing, rotate every 5k miles. When I wear out the BFGs on my Tundra I will replace them with Toyos.

Just slapped some ATII’s on my truck few weeks ago. 295/70R18’s. Like a few had mentioned on here they balanced very well. Most of them required less than 2oz. Haven’t had a chance to really test them out but on the streets I am happy with the purchase.

Paired w scs ray10’s each wheel/tire weighed in at 95lbs. Not bad for this size. Was a little noisy when first mounted but it seems to have quieted down after putting some miles on them.

I too wanted RG’s at first(because they look badass) but it was back ordered by my tire shop.

Thanks for everyone's input. I'm going with the Toyo AT2 extreme in a 295/70r18 when the time comes.

I'm liking the Toyo AT2 extreme as well. Right now running the Toyo R/T. I really like Toyo brand.
I'm about to go up from 33"s to 35"s and thinking AT2 Extreme this time.
