This probably has been covered, to save some time. Can i use snow chains first of all. If so what about the use of cable chains or the plastic type ? Since I live in Norfolk VA, emergency use only

I have never heard of a vehicle not being able to use chains....so I'm going v to definitely say yes our tundys can use chains. I have never seen plastic chains....maybe someone else has. I would say as long as they fit your Tundy correctly you can you chains or cables

The reason I ask, Amazon when searching for snow chains, a message came up chains does not fit your truck. Even though I select the correct tire size ? Very strange

Maybe it thinks there is a clearance issue for some reason. Here is a link from a couple months ago. I have a set of real chains for my 35’s just to be legal when going to the mountain. I’ve had to use them one time on ice. https://www.tundras.com/threads/snow-chains.17359/

bought my cables from ebay. I used them on rear tires. 33"
might be tight on front clearance if you run bigger tires.

I believe your owners manual discusses the use of tire chains.

Get two strap chains and be done. Needing a full set of chains might be a tad bit of overkill. Just a tad.
