Does someone by any chance know how much further the tow mirrors stick out than the non-tow mirrors in the fully retracted position. I'm trying to find out if I will be able to get into my garage without folding them in and want to see if I can save some money by purchasing the manual fold vs. the power fold.

Actually, I don't need the difference, just how far the tow mirrors protrude. I just measured and the standard mirrors are 13".

That's what this place is all about.

I had asked the same question before I got mine. I ended up selling my boat and while waiting to buy a bigger one I'm not towing much at all, the tow mirrors can be a pain at the ATM, I have to fold the driver's side in. My garage is wide enough but I have to be careful.

Well, 1.5" I can fit with out folding. This means I can cheap out and buy aftermarket and not have to crack into one of my kids piggy banks to buy OEM.

I went with OEM but not power fold. I have heard you lose the sidemarker function with some aftermarket ones. Just an FYI.

Well, my problem is that I have a platinum, so I will loose marker light function unless I rewire, factory or aftermarket. Since I'm gonna lose functions, I hate to pay OEM $$$; if I could purchase OEM tow mirrors with all functions intact, I'd be all over it. Realistically, I think it has to do with the plugs at the mirrors, they haven't changed the plug size since 07 and the platinum/1794 have functions the lower trims don't. I would assume that in order to add these functions, they had to remove functions in order to have somewhere to place the wire pins for the new functions.

I see, I see. Makes sense.
