at ~70k, my '08 is just getting broken in. I fully intend for my Tundra to be my hearst.

Well, the chart speaks for itself, 10 out of 15 vehicles are Toyotas. Must be a reliability thing!

When my Tundra is dead I plan on putting a plow on it and taking it off road.

First vehicle in my life I fully intend to pay off and keep. Prior to my Tundra I used to trade my vehicles in every 12-18 months. That got expensive....quick. Ha

If you were doing that, leasing would have been a better option with either 12-24 month term imo

my daughter does 3yr lease since she wants a new highlander and not have to deal with warranty work after the 3yr expiration.

In hindsight, sure. But every vehicle I purchased I had intended to keep forever.

I had no intent of keeping my '08 as long as I have already (10), but if it wasn't for the pesky "having a kid + large dog" thing leading me to trade for a CM, I wouldn't have a problem going 15+

I had a 1983 Toyota 4X4 pick up that I drove for 20 years. I would probably still have it, unfortunately my youngest son wrecked it shortly after getting his drivers license and driving for the first time in the rain. Not his fault. Big believer in Toyota Quality.

Easy 15+ years. My last vehicle ( 2000 Chevy Tahoe), went 268,000 miles before I gave it to my daughter and SIL for a second vehicle, Used that a a Excuse to go buy a 2017 DC.

My 2002 VW Jetta TDI that I had for 14+ years. I was 4 months shy of 15 years when I sold it and bought my Tundra. I love my Tundra but I wish I had kept that damn VW, 52MPG is hard to beat. It ran like a top when I sold it with 325k on the clock.

My Nissan Xterra is 18 years old. 186k on the odo. Still has the factory original clutch that feels like it did when I bought it. I bought my 06 Tundra 2 years ago and DO NOT plan on getting rid of it. I have wanted a Phantom Grey Pearl double cab since I first saw one back in 06 when I started with Toyota. Took me a while, but I got one. Fell into my lap.

I once met a guy in a local dive bar who had a 1986 or 1987 Chevrolet C10 Custom Deluxe 2WD, with the 305cid/5.0L TBI V8 and 4-speed stick (3-speed with granny low, not overdrive). This was back in 2011. He was not the original owner, but the truck had 305K on the clock with the original engine, original tranny, and even the original clutch! This truck still passed the annual safety inspection and emissions test with flying colors!
