Tired to find a thread on more info about Terra Grappler G2, couldn't find much about them. I have owned 2 sets of AT2 Grabbers and really like them. Great in deep snow and dirt. One thing I hate is they throw rock and ride a bit stiff due to the 10ply. Those of you who run Terra Grappler G2 how do they do in deep snow, and all around use? Do they throw rock? Thinking of trying something different this time around.

I can’t speak about the snow, but I am running the 10 ply 2s on 18” +20 offset American Racing rims. I honestly like the ride better than the stock tires. I am running with 58 PSI on the front and 60 on the rear and the ride doesn’t bother me at all. I could be imaging things but it seems like the handling has improved dramatically.

The con is that it does seem to throw road. I haven’t noticed rocks specifically (even on dirt roads), but the truck is hardly ever clean as it kicks up ever puddle I drive through. I think I went with too extreme of an offset as the tires stick out beyond the wheel well and flaps.

I’m in the desert though so I couldn’t even begin to tell you how it handles the snow. In fact I was rocking shorts, a t-shirt, and sandals at dinner last night.

A, I wish I was rocking shorts and sandals last night. -3 when I woke up this morning. They look like a great tire, aggressive but not to aggressive. I assume from all tires of this nature all throw rock. Getting 275, 70 R18 for the next size. Either these or AT2 Grabber know that tire well.

Yep, they all will throw rock. If they stick out past the fender you will really know they throw rock>>>>>fender flares

Wow. My freezer isn’t even -3. We are having unseasonably warm weather while the rest of the country is unseasonably cold. I can’t stand the cold though so it is quite a blessing. Overall I like the tires and love the look. Just a sharp tire.

Let me know what you go with.

I was looking at some fender flares, but I feel like a real poser since I don’t have a 4x4. Plus it didn’t seem like they would come out far enough to make a difference. I could be wrong though.

You can get flares at various widths. Nothing wrong having flares with 2WD. The rocks don't know you have a 2WD......

Looking more like I want to try Nitto. Always good to try something different. Between to new rubber, canopy, and amp research steps I should be good and broke:D

G2s 35x12.5/18. About 4k miles on them. Ran Terra grapplers 315s on an 08 tundra dc 2wd for 5 years 30k miles. Also 325s on ford f150 from 04 to 09 45k miles.
Driverdog gave a very accurate review.
The Ridge grapplers have gotten great reviews, look great, and would probably handle snow off road better. Still give quiet ride and great hwy performance.
I'm a southern mall crawler in v beach like Jim so snow only occasionally.
The tread life expectancy is solid. 30k on one set when traded the truck and plenty of tread.
50k on other set and could've gotten another 10k I'm sure.

Cool that, any guys and gals out there running Terra Grappler G2 in mountains in the winter?
General is a charger in the snow.

    Happy New Year!

I had a set of nitto terra G2 on my Silverado. They were a nice ride, wore great, balanced easy . I was VERY impressed how well they wore. Now with that said they SUCKED bad in the rain and at intersection after rain compared to simple GY Wranglers. They did the job but I didn't like them for traction in wet condition. My buddy Silverado he is running Cooper Discovery. Went out hunting and we both took our trucks, he got around the field in 2 wheel drive i had to pop it in 4 wheel cause they didnt clean themselves for shit and broke loose way way to easy. I put around 45k on them before selling my truck to order my Tundra.

What tires are you running on your Tundra now? Thinking I might go back to General AT2 Grabber. Such a badass tire in the snow.

I have the G2s on my tundra, not for very long now but i have no complaints.

If i may thread jack a little does this look like normal wear on the outside of the tread blocks on the front tires? Not pleased with my recent alignment and noticed this wear after it was done. Tried bumping up pressure to 39 psi.

I'm running a P275/60R20 are your's P or LT running 44 psi? I may bump my pressure up but I figured on a P tire it didn't need to be that high.

Hey Jim. Did great. Drove all over yesterday morning. Out to sandbridge from town center. Exercised that 4wd, first time since I bought it in Feb. On the fly 2wd to 4wd was perfect for the cleared main roads and untouched side roads. Some side ways action in 2wd that was fun.
The nitto g2 was okay but the tight treads filled with pretty quick. If I lived somewhere with frequent snow I would def change to a more aggressive tread.

I live in FL. I did read on this post they are not great in the rain. Anyone else in a wet climate feel the same way on the G2’s?
