Hi all- First post on these forums,

Just bought a lovely ‘07 DC with the off road package. Upon having it inspected before purchase my mechanic found that one of the front coil springs was broken. Dealership agreed to fix it before I picked the truck up. Picked it up today and found they put Sensen Speedy Struts in front.

I believe this is the same part: https://www.carid.com/2013-toyota-t...-strut-complete-strut-assembly-508000097.html

My question is: on the product page it says not for use with TRD off-road package which my truck has. What reason is this for? Does this just mean that basically now my truck is similar to sr5 in front but TRD in back? It looks like the front suspension doesn’t have as much height as the back now. Mostly just want to know if I am going to have any performance issues with this setup? I don’t plan on doing any off roading so no worries there. Just don’t want anything to break prematurely. I do haul and tow medium (2000-5000 lb) loads a couple times per month. Any thoughts about whether the speedy struts are a suitable replacement are appreciated.

Welcome from CO. I've personally never heard of "Speedy" struts. Keep in mind our Tundras do not have struts. Coil overs. I recommend giving ToyTec a call.

Never heard of them either. I have a 08 TRD, and the shocks that come with the TRD Off-road package are the Bilstein 4600's Yellow/Blue.

I checked the link you posted. No way in hell I'd ever put those on my truck. Has to be the cheapest in price "coil overs" I've ever seen and most likely the poorest made. Wouldn't even suffice for mall crawling. You definitely need to get those off ASAP IMHO. There are lots of great replacements that won't break the bank.

Ford Dealer??? OMG!!! heh...heh... The reason why CarID states without TRD package is because the TRD package is way better and that isn't saying much...

These seem to fit ok on the mounts... do you guys think I should run them until they get worn out or should I go back to that dealership and point out that they directly say to not use with TRD off road package to try to get them to put in something better? Again, not planning to take the truck off road at all.

I'd go back to the dealer and get them to swap them out for anything better. My concern are the coils. Even if you don't off road ever, you still don't want a coil failure. Not good...

Ok. Will do. Still need to go back to get the rear view camera fixed. Will call them tomorrow and talk to them about it. Man why can’t it just be simple... So tired of having to fight tooth and nail with dealerships just trying to get a fair shake.

While you still may have some leverage, get back there ASAP and insist that they use only Toyota OEM parts. You could improve on the Toyota coil overs but you’ll be way better off than those speedys
