Its made by a company called burkley case and they make them for most phones... It was a little spendy for a case but very worth it for me

Although.. Wireless charging doesn't work due to the magnet behind the phone. My battery lasts forever so I'm not that bothered

Been putting this off for awhile. My recent excursions, while far from dangerous, have made Bec a little nervous. Given my head space these days, these excursions are going to get longer and more remote. Peace of mind for her is worth its weight in gold. Plus, they're half off right now. So, if you've had your eye on one, I say get it now. $75 is almost a giveaway. And, if you're in CO, get yourself a SAR card.

I've been looking for a clean way to mount my phone, a cb/ham mic and an iPad mini that I'll be using for nav in the dirt. I'm almost afraid to admit it but, I used the search on the forum and something somewhat kinda useful actually popped up. This thread. In there, I found references to Mob Armor and Hondo Garage. Looking at the web sites was amazing. Fireworks went off. Trumpets blared. Women in skimpy togas started to sing.

I grabbed a Mob Mount with RAM ball from Mob Armor. For whatever reason, I preferred it over Hondo's phone mount. From Hondo, I picked up the Un-Holey Dash Mount, cb hanger and a RAM arm. I'll pick up the tablet combo pack from Hondo in the not so distant future.

Good news, it worked fine on the mother-in-laws car. She had a CEL come on the other day... I plugged the unit in and it read the code from her KIA. Code =P050A which is Cold Start Idle Air Control System Performance.

I liked how it told me what the code actually means and I was able to clear the code out. I haven't tried it on my truck yet... but thankfully I don't have a CEL on  I didn't mess with it other than plugging it into her car and reading the code, then clearing it out. There are other features but I haven't tried them yet. I only got it to save her a trip (or trips ) to the auto parts store/dealership for them to read the codes.

Here are a couple more photos of my new Chinese plastic toy.

nah, i don't buy that much gear. you should see the pile behind me on the floor.

i'd like one more body at some point. the pair of 1Ds MKIIIs I have are great work horses but in low light they struggle a bit. my 1DC is my primary these days. been watching KEH. they have some good deals on a 1Dx but i could grab another 1DC for the same price. i'd like a 1Dx II but the used prices are still too high. i also need a 16-35/2.8.

i had my eye on a 4x5 but i'm not sure how much use it would see. i'd love to have it for studio portraits. if i ever win the lottery, i'd pick up a bunch of leica gear, a hassy X1D and either a hassy H6D-100 or the phase one XF100. hell, i won the lottery, i'll just get the hassy and the phase one.

there's a couple of lighting modifiers i want to grab from these guys at some point too.

Sounds like here, I really need to get serious with storing my gear. In the bag(s) on the floor is so not right.

    Sooo many wants ;)
My "want" list is definitely bigger than my "need" list...

ha. yep. backpacks all over my office. my studio gear is downstairs in the basement. light stands, backgrounds, lights, modifiers, sand bags, reflectors, v flats.

i've always tried to stay pretty minimalist with the gear. when i was shooting weddings full time, i trimmed myself down to the point where i would show up with two cameras, a 50, a 35, one flash and a wallet full of cards. it was a great way to work. the studio gear adds a little more complexity but i still try to keep it simple.
