My Nightmare 2018 Inferno TRD Limited
So my husband has a 2016 Tundra Pro, i just purchased a 2018 tundra limited with the added TRD package. I want my truck to sit like his does and unsure if i need just a leveling kit or a lift or both. I called the parts/service dept of the dealership i purchased from and they told me thr Pro has a 6 inch lift ( i dont think so) and it would be $4,000 . Then i called another dealership and asked the same thing, they told me i just need to change out the shocks. about $700. In my opinion i think i only need a 2 inch lift, but want to know form all you experts what your suggestion is.
    thanks

If it’s a stock pro lift, it’s about 2” of height. Shocks don’t change your height- spacers or coilovers (the right way, IMO) will.

The pro sits at 2”. Get a leveling kit and you will be fine. Never go back to the place who told you the pro is lifted 6”.

Welcome from Obx Derna. Sean is exactly right. It depends on what your gonna do with your Tundra. You going off-road a lot, then full coilover kit from Toytec will get you where you need to be. If you are mainly keeping it on the flat then a spacer will be fine. I've been running a 2 1/2" spacer for 2+ yrs with no problem. Make sure it's a billet solid aluminum. I wouldn't mess with any mild steel spacers. Some of our lift pros will chime in at some point.

Welcome from AZ. The trd pro has 2" lift in the front end. The TRD pro coil overs and rear shocks will cost you around $2,300.00 then labor to have them installed. There are other options that cost way less and do the same thing.

If you’re going the spacer route, I would suggest the in-coil spacer kit.

If you research the Revtek spacer kit, you will see how it is installed, and will see the engineering behind it....it is different than the other spacers out there !!!

The billet Aluminum spacer is placed inside the coil pack. But there is also another spacer that is placed on top of the coil pack, thus taking the stress off of the suspension, which all the other spacers out there don't do. That's why Revtek is the only spacer kit that Toyota approves ! I did my research before i put it in my truck

20170315_165934.jpg.....if you look real close you can see the "round" billet type washers that sit above the big spacer...this set up takes the "stress" off the suspension....of course it's not anything like coilovers...but I dont off-road anymore....very inexpensive if you want the truck leveled and are going to be a pavement princess :D

Thanks everyone, tight now I think I'm just going with a leveling kit, I don't do offroading, but with that being said to get to my house in the national forest I drive a 13 mile gravel road down the mt and back up daily.. maybe when I replace tires I will go with a bigger tire and 2 inch lift.

I used 2.75 aluminum spacers over stock
And after 3 months the ride and handling
    Became scary .
    I went with 2.50 quick lift 999919/20
And 5000 on rear Rancho and upgraded
    To platinum 20 on 275 65 20 nokkian
    41.5 front 42” rear

what stresses do you think are being eliminated here? It's effectively creating stress risers by concentrating the entire suspension load on a significantly smaller surface area of the 3 washers you pointed out.

Go to "Off-Road.Com" ....."Revtek 3 in. lift Review @ Offroad.com".....Explains WHY Revtek is different than the other spacer companies out there ....I could spell it out for you, but I'm not going to....read it ....Toyota only approves Revtek for this reason...Spacers are NOT for OFF ROADING....But of course MOST people who own trucks know this ....

So it’s obvious that your are getting upset by me 2nd guessing the statements you are making on here. So I’ll let you be.

I do want to clarify a couple things for the rest. Sure spacer lifts work, but they are still spacer lifts. Nothing revolutionary, except that instead of putting a giant spacer on top of the coilover, they split it in two and put one in the coil and one on top. Just another way of skinning a cat. Also, I just looked at the article on off-road.com and they complain that the spacers themselves felt and were in fact brittle, but that was in 2005.

Secondly, Toyota doesn’t approve this. Period. So please don’t spread that for folks that may not do their research and then expect Toyota to cover blown out shocks due to bottoming out. About the only caveat is that they do provide bump stop extensions which seems to be a first for a spacer loft company, but still not revolutionary.

Not upset bro ....just stating that the Revtek is more advanced than the other spacers out there .....And I have had 2 different Toyota dealers tell me it is approved by Toyota...So it is true ....or the 2 dealerships are lying ....anyway , I ain't losing any sleep
