Interesting pictures. I had a Leer 100XL on my '11 Access Cab Tacoma, but am going a different direction with my '18 CrewMax, at least for now. The Leer was great for hauling my three Dalmatians to the parks, but with the extra cab space of the Tundra, and reduced bed length, I thought I'd move them inside and cover the bed with a tonneau cover. IMO, shells on the short box look a little weird. I ordered seat covers today as well, and who knows, I might change my mind after the first shed/shake from the hair machines...

It's empty right now unfortunately. Work got in the way of my camping plans. I normally just have a paco pad and large sleeping bag I'll roll out in there. Biggest piece of advice would be to get the headliner as it keeps condensation at bay. I'm eventually going to build a platform system but haven't gotten around to it yet.

I loved my cap. But after I started wheeling my truck I soon realized they are definitely not equipt for wheeling (like real wheeling not fireroads). They just can’t flex with the bed enough. I ditched it before It started cracking everywhere. This pic is early in my build F7126B23-A743-4B20-BC7A-8406B677B05A.jpg

I have never seen any evidence that they will crack from wheeling. I believe damage will occur from fast running and hard hits, but not controlled crawling.
I’ve run shells forever on my trucks, I run hills and climbs that damage body parts but not the shell. They have all been snug tops, maybe they are built to withstand the problem.
Would be interested to hear from anyone that has confirmed cracking from wheeling. Not overloaded racks or jumping.

With controlled crawling ur probably right. And when we do trips we do enjoy technical stuff but really like to bomb trails as fast as our trucks and suspension can handle. I beat on my truck pretty hard. Hitting whoops and washes with hard hits and bouncing around it wasn’t working with the shell. And it would’ve been worse when my long travel is done and I can push the truck harder. My shell smashed the cab a couple times. U can ask guys like Osidepunker or n2deep how a shell handled hard wheeling... one of the guys who had one had cracks all over the place after some time

What kind of roof rack set up is that? I couldn't quite read the manufacturer of your bed drawer system, do you like that setup? Looks sweet.

I really like the setup. I mounted the towers as far back as possible so I could easily slide things up top without tearing up my top. I took this rack off of my Titan and reused it on this truck. This rack was discontinued but similar racks are out there. The rack capacity is not the limiting factor, the top is. Check ARE for top capacity.

    G’mornin!
The rack is a Yakima, the drawers are by Decked Drawers, and I love the setup. For me it’s perfect, and pretty damn secure.
The cap locks, the drawers lock, and the tailgate locks.
I’m primarily using this truck for exploring and hunting. When I need to haul bulk stuff, I use a trailer.

Hey, got a quick question for y'all shell owners.
1.Do you feel you sacrifice any advantage of open trunk to haul stuff?
    2. What do you do to cover your belongings in the trunk space?
3.How much does one of these cost generally?
I am debating between tonneau cover or this. Thanks guys.

    1. Definitely but they are really nice if you need that much coverage
    2. Huh? Topper of course
    3. Double the cost of a tonneau. Usually over $2000 if buying new

No lol I mean like inside the topper. Cuz this got windows where people can peek inside the trunk space. So what do people usually do to cover the belongings inside the toppers (like the trunk space on SUV got that retractable piece)? Or can the window be tinted to non transparent?

Oh, one more question lol, can this be removed in our own garage?

    1. Never felt that I have sacrificed cargo space, if it doesn't fit, I have it delivered.
    2. I have really dark windows on mine. I also have a couple of Pelican cases that I keep locked and cable locked in the back. It's just to keep the honest people honest.
    3. I have seen $1700- 2800. Like trucks there are a lot of options that add up.
