I didn't. It's "some". Just enough for the bolts to clear. Now it looks more or less the same as the '15 we have here.

He said he clipped in all but the one that's covered.

With the multiple clips that come in from the top vertically add and the hard mounts front and rear of the frame section in question even if you left all 3 out of the outer face of the frame they would be plenty secure. That's 4 mount points in ~ 4-5 feet of frame even if you dont push any of the clips back in horizontally.

If you need more than that you'll need to get with a local fabricator to come up with a new mounting system for those lines.

I got the driver's side on.
Dropping the gas tank skid provided just enough room to get the backing plates in.
I unscrewed the ebrake bracket to get it out of the way during installation. There is no way that it can be screwed back in without bending it or flipping it over.

    Did you get yours installed?

My recommendation would be to re-route the lines like i did and replace the clamps that hold the lines. You can push them out of the way, even though you shouldn't have to. As for the last bolt on the driver side....it was a bitch. i had to use a little force to get that last plate back there, but i did install them before my skids went on and that BS gas tank skid was pointless anyway. it went away pretty quickly

@mac11 just for reference, can you please show how the back plates are supposed to be attached properly? The pic you posted earlier just shows one side of the frame

@Almaboy I did not. Forgot we had to head out of town this past weekend so definitely attacking them this coming weekend. Hopefully with everything we've put together here I can work through it with minimal issues. What did you replace the clamps with? I'd like to get everything together so I don't have to make trips to the hardware store and back several times. @GodlessPro already gave me a heads up on that one....

Just drilled holes and used the same clamps but I also zip tied where I could to make it easier. It was almost a year ago I installed mine so I can’t remember all of the struggles but definitely get someone to help or something to prop the ends up because they are heavy to handle by yourself without a little assistance

We throw jack stands under the slider to hold them up. works great.

Once you look at the backing plates you'll see they can only go together 1 way. There is a pin sticking off one side. That goes through the frame and is a pilot into the hole in the slider bracket.

Mine are installed. You need a couple of guys to help hold in place even with a jack stand. Looks good

its looks awesome I was just curious as to what you went with I had my p&p sliders sprayed with Line-X I thought about powder coating them but was worried they might end up being slippery I like how they match your wheels

I may be late to the party, sounds like everyone got there's installed. If it helps at all i have a 2015 CM standard gas tank. Passenger side I just unclipped 3 of the brake line plastic hold-downs from frame to make room for backing plate. After installed, I put in a couple zip ties, just to reduce potential for flopping, but pretty secure as brake lines are rigid. Driver side, I just had the one bracket holding the fuel hose (i think it is) in the way, I was able to just leave that in place, bending the bracket up to make a bit of room for the angle support for the slider. Feel free to PM me if you need any additional pics or input on install, happy to share. cheers!

I haven't installed mine yet, haven't even opened the box of parts yet, not going to be have time to attempt install until at least next week. I recently moved to NC, so don't have any local friends to call upon, so i'll be attempting solo install. Is the basic concept that the bracket on the skid needs to be lined up with the hole and then the backing plate on the otherside and run a bolt through?

Yes. That’s the exact concept. The backing plate has a nipple the inserts into the holes in the frame and run the bolt through

They’re on! Thanks to @GodlessPro and @Almaboy and @mac11 for the heads up on changes to a 17. Took about 3.5 hours total with a short lunch break.

Just had a customer cancel an order on tubular type 4, front dimple plate with monster liner. They are hanging in the booth sprayed, curing and 1 day away from being ready to ship if anyone is interested in near zero lead time. Can ship these out this week still.

Finished and installed P&P Type 4 Tundra Sliders this weekend (their new design). Cleaned really well, sanded down with 120 (and some 60 for a few tough spots), then three light coats of self etching primer followed by three coats of paint. Ended up deciding to go with Rustoleum Textured in flat black. Enough texture so your foot doesn't slip, but not as deep as bed liner. Am hoping this will be easy to clean while still non-slip. Will see how it holds up.

Install wasn't too bad. Took under 2 hours with a friend helping. Had to drop the gas tank protection on drivers side, but after that wasn't bad. Lines got in the way on the passenger side, but was able to move them enough to get the work done. Used jack stands in the back and a jack in front to position, which made it much easier. So far so good. They're nice a solid, look nice and the kids already like having a step. Now just need to get out onto some trails.
