Please forgive me if I missed it elsewhere, but I have put my time in searching.

I am trying to compare/contrast sliders that are compatible with the 38 gallon fuel tank.

    I have a 2016 Limited CrewMax.

    So far, my contenders are

P & P - Yes, 38-gallon friendly, confirmed by Facebook Messenger, advises install is easier if you take the factory plastic skid plate off from the tank straps.

    SDHQ - Pending

White Knuckle - Yes, 38-gallon friendly, confirmed by BigTimber.

All Pro APEX - Yes, 38-gallon friendly, confirmed by 16tunterd

Demello - Yes, 38-gallon friendly, Rock Crushers, confirmed by Gbatchder (same truck as mine, 2016 CrewMax

CBI also makes a set, but they don't advertise or have it listed anywhere.

I'd like to piggy-back on this question (but not derail it). Please, those of you who know and answer the OP, indicate which are compatable with a 2016 CM w/ 38 gallon tank, and also which are comparable with a DC without cutting to shorten. I keep reading about having to cut em and I don't want to.

The wheelbase are the same between a DC and CM. There shouldn't be any reason to cut the length. I think most sliders are interchangeable, atleast the SDHQ ones are.

Thanks, Joon! So, for the OP, SDHQ sliders will fit his ride....

I have the Demello Off-road Rock Crusher Sliders. They came bare metal and had them Line-X’d and they are awesome. They are on my ‘16 SR5 with 38 gallon tank. No cutting or drilling required. http://demello-offroad.com/

i've got demello's as well but the hybrid version. you will only have to drill a few holes in the frame if you want them weight bearing.

What do the Demello's look like underneath? Do they wrap under frame?

Yes, it's an L bracket. There are 4 of them. The outside of the L lines up with existing holes in the frame. The most rearward L, has holes that line up in both the side and bottom of the frame. If you just want them as steps, you only need to bolt the outside of each L as well as the bottom on the last one by the rear tire. If you want them weight bearing as sliders, you will need to drill holes in the bottom of the frame, 3 on each side, 1/2" bit.

They are mountable as a one man job but you'll have to get creative with a floor jack.

A little of this and a little of that.

I have the exact same ones, installed about 8 months ago. Love ‘em. They fit perfectly on my 16 crew max w/ a 38 gallon tank.

I went with the same Demello Rock Crusher sliders. In order for this to be used as a true slider some drilling is required. I believe it’s 4 holes into the frame.

White Knuckles on my 2016. Had to drill some holes for the underside of the brackets. I especially like the extra little lip at the front and behind the slider.

+1 for Demellos. Got them ridiculously fast too. Not sure if that is normal but they make some nice stuff.

With the Demello’s it’s 4 holes in the frame per side if you want them as true Sliders or to jack up the truck with them. I’m just using them as running boards and are solid with the frame hole bolts. They are heavy duty - 76 pounds each I believe - quite the install with two floor jacks. I’ll post some more pics of the bottom when I can get some in the light.

All Pro on a '16 CM with 38 gal. tank. You do have to drill some holes in the bottom of the frame. I like the way are canted up slightly so they don't make the truck look lower. I landed the truck on 'em last weekend w/o issue. This was the gentle "truck is taking a brake". But it made it the 1st time and came down hard on the sliders, so hard that I got out to take a look to what I'd done,,,,, nothing.

Looking at P & P, but don't see these listed (with a kickout). What type do they consider that one?

I've started to pay attention to that thread, and tempted to get on the 20 pre-order, but hard to tell if that is the right route. I like that the lower half of the L-bracket runs almost the entire length of the bottom of the frame.

More than half of my backing plates were too big so I had to compromise strength for a snug fit. Ifiever have to jack up in certain spots it’ll be onlybolts that is supporting the truck

    Ok know why they’re discontinued

WKOR fits the 38 gal. Have to drill out holes at the bottom though.

Everything I read about BAMF is that their products are top-notch. But after scouring this forum, I decided I'll go SDHQ because they also have an excellent reputation, their sliders offer coverage over the greatest length, and (probably most important to me, so I don't have to decide whether I'm putting holes in at just the right places), I don't have to drill holes in my truck to install. I'm not a fan of kick-outs, so not having any or much would please me best.

Now, back to BAMF, if you read through all of that other feeler thread, there's some theorizing that you could pay a bit extra for a kick-out. Who knows, maybe they'll build them to extend the full length and locate holes to mount into those already in your truck. If so, those on that feeler list will be a lucky crowd. You could be their hero if you sign up, because they need a few more to commit, like, right now. And it might be a unique opportunity to get best or tied-for-best sliders at a lower price than they'll ever be going forward....

If those get built, and have the quality and customized fit for the Tundra that the SDHQ have, thousands more will jump to buy; and may or may not get that chance, depending on whether BAMF can put them out at a price point that makes sense for them and purchasers.

I bet there's a couple thousand of us still watching that thread. But, because it's a 1st production kinda thing, BAMF hasn't put out details about the things that are priorities to me.
