I had a set of retrofits done for my Tundra and I love them, but, driving in from hunting last night the High Beam on the right side quit working, low beam is still on...

I checked the connection and it is still made, and, I used a multimeter to check and see that I have power to the connector plug, and it does.

    Suggestions would be appreciated.

Possibly the projector is bad.. you might have to pull it apart and inspect.
So with the mini d2s system there is only one bulb. That bulb does NOT get brighter for high beam.
When the hi’s are activated it will flick the bulb to beam off the lower reflector giving you a high beam.

Another thing to check before you go off and rip it apart is make sure the positive is hitting the positive and negative is hitting the nigative on the harness. If it’s red-red/Black-black try swapping the harness reverse and see if that works.. that can sometimes be an issue with these.

They have been working fine for a month, just stopped high beam on right side last night. Low beam is working fine.

Double check your connections. I bet it is a bad ground.

The solenoid controls the high/low beam function of the projector, you can test the solenoid with a 9v battery. If it functions with a 9v battery it is not your solenoid, and I would check all your grounds.

Mines the opposite once it gets hot the driver side high beam won’t flip on el said to just keep flicking the switch and eventually it will work. Who wants to drive down the road flicking their high beams????? I’ve just learned to deal with it for now don’t really feel like tearing them apart

    Have you checked your grounds?

El knows more than I, but when I had asked TRS with a solenoid question it seemed like if the solenoid is faulty it will be faulty right from the start, which is why they have you test them before install. Failure after that is very rare, according to TRS.

Huh, I'm having trouble with passenger side. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I've checked the ground, swapped ballasts and swapped moto control with no change. Now I'm gonna pull the front off the truck and try swapping bulbs tomorrow.
My drl strip (like the platinum) is failing too. There are several lights out on each side. :annoyed:
It was one of my favorite mods but also the most frustrating.
I've got a spare set of headlights and I'm thinking of doing a retro with LED projectors and tossing the other ones in the trash.

Don't ditch your retro's! They can be fixed!

Did you do them yourself? What is the issue you are having? Solenoid too (high/low feature)? Or is your one bulb not lighting up at all?

Tough call! Let me dig around for a comparison.. my bud just got 4.0 in his taco.. I like em a lot better than my setup. Better throw/spread and very crisp output.

Yes checked grounds. I’m on my fourth relay harness in prob 1 1/2 years only because I live in upstate NY salt snow more salt. He had told me that he tests everyone he sends out to make sure they work and to just keep flicking them on/off quickly and eventually it will open up. I have read elsewhere that it has something to do with the metal heating up and blocking the shutter from opening.

Good to know. I think I've got a spare harness. Maybe I'll try swapping that out too.

I had checked power feed and ground, both were working. Sometimes things quit working. I picked up a set of standard headlights (thanks AlexWV for shipping before receiving payment) and sent my failed one back to the retrofitter, hope to be back up and running in a little while.older eyes

The Morimoto's are exactly what I wanted, they are awesome for older eyes, and I want them in my truck!

Ahhhhh! World of lights is back to where it should be, got my headlight back last night, installed and it is working again. Retrofitter found the coil still functional, but the connection had somehow worked loose. He got it put back together and I have my ability to see back!
