    Hello,

Just curious if anyone has had any issues with tire options/changes on the 2018s.

I'm looking to keep a stock Limited Crewmax but upgrade wheels to 20" wheels and wider street tires, than the stock 275.

Anyone have advice on good street wheels for trucks? What about sidewall sizing?

I really like the black TRD Pro wheels but if you look at the Tundra from the side, the wheels look very small, and distracting. I want the same all black look on 20" street wheels with street tires, probably Michelins. Pic below shows how small they can look, but I've seen them look worse, just depends on angle and lighting with camera.

    Thanks for any info.

I can see what you mean by the wheels looking small being black tires, black wheels and getting lost in black wheel well. I have 35" on 18" on mine, but I have A/T tire and not necessarily a "street" tire. Maybe a different set of wheels that are not black? How bout painting calipers red or something to add some depth to the side view? @ToyTec Lifts boss kit with red springs would look bad ass too

I don't mind the look of all black, in fact, I prefer it. But in daylight the smallness of those wheels look even more overwhelmed by the truck not only in the profile shot, bur also looking at the truck from the front and back. Tires look really narrow. I just want to go to 20" wheels and something like 295 or 305/70/20 to make the wheels wider in a street tire.

Anyone else have an opinion or who uses 20" wheels on their 2017 or 2018 Tundra limited 4x4? I believe someone posted on another forum that Toyota makes the stock wheels in 20" as well as 18" which would probably resolve my issue. I'd have to then find a good summer tire to fit the bigger wheel. Michelin does well on street tires.

I have 20" wheels (TRD Sport) with 55 sidewalls. It is my understanding that I can go up to 60 if I stay with the same width. If you go wider, the wheel will get bigger even with the same 55 sidewall, so watch out for rubbing issues if you go wider and up to 70 sidewall - you will definately have rubbing issues.

How does your truck ride on the city streets and highway? What wheels are you running?

you can fit a 295/55/20 with very little issue. there are many brands/styles in that size.

I am running the OEM 20" wheels and Bridgestone 275/55/20 tires that came on the truck. I have no issues with it and think it is a nice ride. With the TRD Sport suspension and sway bars it is almost a SUV ride compared to some trucks I have been in.
The dealer had it aired to 28 psi when I bought it. I had significant wear along the outside tread blocks within a couple thousand miles. I increased the pressure to 38, which did not make the ride significantly harder, but I can feel the difference going through potholes and such, but the wear has been great since. For my next set I will go up to 60 sidewall, more for looks than anything else. I think these wheels are just a little too small for the wheel opening.

I'm not running street tires, but mine are 285/55r20 bfg ko2's. My truck has a street truck look.

those look like stock rims, do you have a lift? any cutting required for that size of tire? mine came with 275 55 r20 and would like to go a little taller with a more aggressive tread. at most I am willing to go with a 2" leveling kit...advise?

No lift or leveling kit. They are not stock wheels. They are BBS wheels. And no cutting, they do not rub on anything.

My understanding is that if you go up to 275 60 r20 and a 2" leveling you should be fine. That is my plan when I have to replace the current set; I only have 10,000 miles on them, so it will be a while.

I’ve never seen a tire in 305/70R20, if I’m not mistaken that’d be around 37x12x20. Hell of a big tire.

Recently got a great deal on SR5 Crewmax with 18" Steeles..I'm more of a street truck/daily driver type and really liked Michelins that came with it but hated the steelies. Bought a new take off set of 20s' from another forum member with Dunlop S5000's. I think it looks great. Does ride a tad rougher as expected and I will go back to Michelins with a bigger sidewall after I run these down.

I had Bridgestone Duelers on my Ridgeline. I really didn't care for them. As a street tire they were OK. But in the snow they were marginal at best. I never got stuck with the Michelin's and when the Bridgestone's wore out I went back to Michelin.

I was just wondering when the tires wore out on the Tundra what I may consider. Since we do get snow and I really do NOT go off-road much I usually look at Performance all-season. I went to tire rack and looked under 20" "Ultra High Performance all season". The only tire that came up was the Dunlop SP Sport 5000M. The 3 star reviews make me wonder how good they are.

The High performance selection came up with Eagle Sport All-Season (H- or V-Speed Rated) - Size: 275/55R20 which got much better reviews.

If I stick with Michelin, I can always go with the LTX M/S2. They do OK on the Ridgeline. However, I am open to other recommendations.
