I have not seen a 2018 in person but i think the front emblem is solid, thats where the TSS sensor is. My 17 i had the camera in the emblem and loved it. Dont think thats an option on the 18

Got mine mounted and installed yesterday. I must say this is pretty nice. Selectable anytime camera(s) is a very nice addition, but being able to mess with grayed out menus from the passenger seat while the wife is driving is huge! I seem to have issues with my Entune either staying connected or tethering properly and constantly find myself removing the tethered phone, re-linking it, and restarting Entune. It's nice to not have to pull over to do this. Thanks TundraTex. Also a heads up to anyone with the SR5 that also has the SR5 upgrade package with blind spot monitoring and parking sensors...I had to put my camera switch down low next to the USB plug, and the VIM above it like @BlueBottle did. I had no open blanks for the VIM switch.

So glad I found this thread! Was asking in another forum about a company I found selling something similar and was thinking to myself I wish I could find a forum member who created one, with great install videos and lots of reviews! :)

I’ll be ordering as soon as I figure out a quality camera and mount position for my 2018. Want best camera I can find and then ideally a perfect fit into one of the honeycomb openings below the emblem.

@Jst4fun321, check out the links to various cameras in the window at the bottom of this thread. The Chinese-made cams are very inexpensive and I haven’t heard of anyone having issues with them. I’ve had my camera installed for about 8 months now and use it every day. I’ve had no issues with it. So if you find one that will work with your grill, go for it!

Let me know when you’re ready to order and we’ll get you set up!

This is working really well for me and was referred by another member. Just above you can see yet another one of these in the grille of @dcsleeper408

Thank you all for the camera tips. Have seen some of these on Amazon and mostly good, but a plenty of negative reviews. I’ll search some more and make a selection to test fit in the new grille.

If anyone finds a good one and good mounting location on the 2018 grille please share!

TundraTex are you still making the FRaC harness and is there a way to hook the cameras up to a recording system.

@TundraMerk I am still building harnesses... lots of them.

The best way to record the video from either - or both - cameras is to install a pass thru recording device such as a mobile DVR in-line with the video feeds to the FRAC harness. The OEM rear camera and the user-installed front camera are always powered on; regardless of whether they are being displayed on the HU. So recording the signal is pretty straightforward.

I've considered using something like the link below to record the front video. I haven't ordered one yet, but It has a loop record function, so if you run out of memory it automatically replaces the oldest video with the latest. Seems like just the ticket. I think there are dual channel recorders avaiable as well, if you want to record both camera feeds.

Thanks for the info, it really helps. I think that FRAC is the best thing out there. I am guessing the info you put out in an earlier post is still the correct way to order one.

TundraTex, I have read partially through this thread and maybe I missed it, but is there any movement on gen 2 FRAC? I have '08 Limited w/factory NAV and would be thrilled to add this mod. Thanks for doing this.

That would be FRACv3. I am waiting for this as well. He mentioned that it is on his to do list, but I think the v2 stuff is keeping him pretty busy. My next planned mod is stereo so the the FRAC will fit in perfectly.

Hey guys. I haven't started on this project yet. Between my day job and the FRACv2 orders, there's more work to do than time to do it.

This looks awesome. I am replacing my headlights soon and just ordered a camera to install while I have the front end apart. @TundraTex I just sent you an email with my order info.

The FRAC harness is designed to Plug and Play with the OEM Entune Head Unit wiring interface. Unless your aftermarket Unit used the same harnesses and power/signal routing, it would not be compatible. I recommend not using the FRAC harness with an aftermarket HU.
