in the settings or advanced settings there is a positive or negative setting that controls directions of some features on a few things in the in the menu that fixes that if that is your issue

I didn't know that, I will take a look. Be nice if they provided some documentation on the HU and yes, that is part of my issue, if I increase/move to the right the temps will increase and decrease instead of increasing and vice-versa.

Thinking of either painting mine or ordering this black one.. And maybe pain the bezel around the unit

How much is that bezel? I would think that looks better in contrast to the android unit...I don't want to paint the head unit unless there was a way to do the buttons without blocking the light.

I’ve decided I’m getting rid of all the lights. Realistically you don’t need them and i only use the home button and the defrost which is pretty easy to figure out at night. I just can’t stand the difference in color from the other lights. No matter what it will never be close enough to oem.

Ive always wanted to do mine but just couldn’t bring myself to do it. I’ve wanted to change all the silver to high gloss black. I have seen some people have wrapped the but if you look close there are a lot of ugly spots

I do like the black on the android unit but I would probably mess up the paint and then have another annoying thing to look at lol

Hahah I doubt it. It’s not to hard. You don’t even need to sand it. Just clean it with alcohol, and spray. I was able to do it all in one coat just kept spraying it lightly over and over till I had full coverage. The biggest this is resisting touching it. I left it for 24 hours and it was good to go.

that’s with fighting the cigarette lighters and the hazard/airbag light. Just read some stuff on here first. It would have saved me a ton of time the first time.

Take your time and be prepaired. Do your reading on what you might want to do to the HU prior to install. Ie blue tape mod, stray light mod... You can also install all the cables and secure them to the top with zip ties. These can all be done in the comfort of indoors prior to any stock HU removal.

I did a post (818) that should help gather info prior to actually starting.

Of actual install time it was well under two hours and I was not in any rush.

same here...took my time and planned everything out...read all 29 pages of this thread lol...if I had to do it again it would be a lot easier and faster. My biggest thing was trying to get my headrest tvs to work with it but everything is good except small fitment issues but I can live with it

Took about 3 hrs to install, want to thank everyone on all the tips. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi was easy and have not tried to mirror my S8 yet. Installed Google maps and works great. Had to switch to Tundra hi and checked that the sub was switched on but not sure the sub is working yet. To all who installed make sure you put the stock head unit bolts back in. Two of them are for the dash mounts. Now if I get time I will deal with the lights.

    Congratulations on the installation!

Let us know how your mirroring works.

I could not get my phone to mirror vis USB but I have a moto G 5S+ with just stock 7.1.1.
