Has anyone here used them? I was thinking of doing some audio upgrades in the truck, and they are close by.

The reviews I’ve read are mixed, so I was wondering if anyone had first hand experience with them, or know what kind of reputation they have.

None first had. Had a neighbor that tried to upgrade his stereo thru them and they wanted an arm, leg and first born to install it. That's all I know about CT.

I have a system in my truck that was installed by them. It sounds incredible but installation was expensive. I got a lifetime warranty on craftsmanship that is all encompassing but pricey

We went there a few years ago to see about a radio upgrade for my daughter's car. They ooh'd and aah'd over some guys thumpthump setup in his new Corvette and ignored us. Apparently, we didn't look rich enough.

Went on November 29th for a quote, the Pioneer unit was on sale for $849.00, by the time installation/parts were added the total was $1569.00. Passed on the offer.

I've had them install new systems in 2 trucks I've owned in the past. I like their work and loved both systems

I think they do good work but they are crazy expensive. I always have Best Buy install my car audio. They do great work at a much cheaper price. I often buy my equipment at Car Toys then have Best Buy install it. The local Best Buy has a install manager that has been there for over 15 years. Most of the time you have to make an appointment as they can't install the same day.

That was actually my next question. I love Best Buy, but have never had them do something like this. I have quite a bit of rewards points there.

Got a quote from them yesterday. The head unit I was looking at was on sale for $399 but after XM tuner ($70), Maestro Datalink (about $150), install kit, and installation the total was over $1000.

I know it is expensive to have someone else do it, but installing a system yourself for the first time takes an incredible amount of time. I just installed a new head unit, amp, door speakers with separate tweeters, a subwoofer, and front/rear cameras. It took me three weeks to get everything done. I can see why Best Buy and Car Toys charge so much to do an install. I used lots of materials to do the job - solder, electrical connectors, electrical tape, regular tape, wire loom, velcro tape, paint thinner, etc... It took lots of tools also including buying trim removal tools and other stuff. I learned a lot doing the project but might pay someone the next time.
