Brand new by today. Recently got 2006 double cab in great shape. Has 140k miles, but you would not guess it.
Only issue is radio reception...very poor. Believe it is bad antenna...can remove the shaft from the base with no impact on reception. CD plays great.
Needs some small plastic inserts for wiper arm and bolt cover in step area rear bumper where hitch is attached.
Any suggestions on what to look for that typically wear at this mileage? Thanks all....Big lewis

Timing belt and water bump should have been done at 90k, but have seen many put them off til 130 or so. Might wanna check that if possible.

I got mine over about 2 years ago with 134k. Had to have the waterpump and timing belt done within 500 miles after getting it, and had a cylinder drop due to a coil pack going bad. So I replaced the coil pack and all plugs at the time. Then the alternator went out on me about 5k miles ago (160k) other than that it has been a great truck. Its my DD. 40 miles round trip a day and love it

    Nice colour!
Mine had a bit of rust above windshield, which was much worse once glass was removed. Cam seal has slight leak, mechanic said keep an eye on it but dont sweat it.
    Other than that, amazing truck!

Thanks. Mine is pretty clean... all the major maintenance was doNE recently. I spoke to the Toyota dealer where all the work was done and was told I am good for another 105,000 miles. Currently at.113000. Great truck tough on gas so I only drive a few.days a week.

Issues to look for.......First, change your timing chain!!! Very important. Next, watch for women throwing themselves at you and your truck!

They make a AIP bypass for 4.7 4runner's and GX470s.

Can’t bypass in my state. That’s against the law here too.

Pump housing rubbed against intake and blew apart is what I figured out.

It's a simple plug in device. Unplug for inspection.

    Welcome fellow Darrell Waltrip owner!
I bought mine Oct. of 2016 with about 134k mikes on it. Lucky for me, the previous/original owner kept it nice. I had to replace the battery, alternator, and some transmission work. I put new sneaks on it and a new Xm radio with a backup camera. I absolutely love this truck. Good luck!
