    I forgot something!!

When I dropped off my truck to the "winning dealership", they did a little research on the truck and noticed that a claim had been filed with Toyota's Road Hazard warranty. Sure enough, it was approved, not only for the tire, but the rim too. Already paid out. But my truck has the original tire and rim on it. :notsure: There was serious confusion on what had/hadn't been done. I am just as confused as they were. No rim, no tire. Most importantly, no phone calls. So where are my parts??

I stopped by the "winning dealership" after work today. I talked with a few people. All seemed to be especially helpful and concerned with the issue. I even played back a couple recordings and showed some pictures. Their responses resembled that of staring at the TV screen, witnessing 9/11. All were in disbelief that the dealership could treat a customer the way they did.

They've asked me to gather all my information up to see what they can do for me.

In doing that, I came across this photo:

    20150505_170433.jpg

Notice the green marks on the eccentric cam...

The left symbolizes where it's at now. The right resembles where it was before they took it apart.

    So what's the problem??

The problem is the angle that the cam is positioned. That cam is turned more than 90º from its home position.

When that control arm slammed into the chassis, the cam would have rotated counter-clockwise, not clockwise. Those markings on the cam should be pointing down, not up. The eccentric tabs would have pushed the cam counter-clockwise.

    What does this tell us?

This tells us that the truck was taken apart before the markings were made on the cam. There is no plausible way for the cam to be in that position with markings 1/4" apart without being put in that position.

This is getting as good as Matlock or Murder She Wrote. Looks like you are getting closer to a resolution. I'm going to put some popcorn in the micro now.

Tough situation.....I would not think that it is Toyota's issue as the front suspension is not stock. As Toyota does not do aftermarket lifts on new trucks it would be on the dealer who had the suspension work done. My guess would be as was stated a while back, that someone did not tighten things up when the lift was done, and your evasive maneuver allowed things to shift. My bet is that this will be a fight between you, the insurance, and the dealer. Any help on Toyota's part would be simple for customer relations due to the altered suspension. Good luck in your quest.

FYI that's who does most of the lifts for toyota dealers. I would not take it there.

Wow this is thread is like a CSI episode. Sorry that you're having to go through all this @freqsounds. Hopefully that dealer gets what they deserve and you get a replacement truck as you should.

I had an experience with my previous Tundra concerning the leveling kit install and it pulling to the right. First I go pick up the truck and take it home after the leveling kit, tires and wheels were supposed to be installed but since I was in a hurry I didn't look underneath as I assumed all was good... After driving home the tires rubbed (which I specifically said make sure they dont) and I looked underneath and they didn't install the leveling kit. So, I had to go back and have it installed but there was still a slight rub and the truck pulled excessively to the right. I had it re-alligned 3 times but they couldnt fix it and said it was due to the tires. I've never had that issue with any other truck? I decided to buy the Pro and not deal with aftermarket suspension issues this time around.

Anyway... this doesn't compare to your issue but I can somewhat understand your frustration with whats going on. Good Luck!

He hasn't posted anything here since July 9th.

Definitely want to hear some closure on this case. Maybe do some digging around to see if he is updating on other forums or Facebook.

IMO, Full litigation is happening, OP has been told to stay off the forums. OR I nicer thought, ToyCorp replaced the truck and OP signed an NDA.

    None...yet
I have heard nothing but bad things from the Priority Toyota, actually the group in general. Shady company and bad rep for warranty repairs. Also Pungo off-road or Eastern Off-road are 2 major players for the area in lifts. I have not heard anything from Andy Fox yet on wavy 10 so maybe it's resolved. Would have taken it to First Team Toyota. Their great with QC and customer service relations. Hopefully you didn't use Lowell "the hammer" Stanley as your attorney .
