So I decided I need to get myself something for Xmas. Its just me and my daughter and I know she's expecting Santa to bring something for me too.
I've been dying to upgrade my stereo somehow but just don't have the money. Is there anything I can do for around $100 to give me a little bit better sound?
I was thinking new speakers in front door may help a bit? Maybe soundproofing? If prefer something plug and play with adapters if I go the speaker route. If it's just not worth it, I'll look into getting something else.

I was going to look on critchfield because they include harness and speaker adapter and free shipping this week.
Give me options for 5 1/4 or 6.5 inch speakers. Is one preferred? Will a 6x9 fit in the door?

Also should I try to find something under 4 ohms since I'm using the factory head unit?

If I read your profile correctly you have a 2015 Tundra Platinum, meaning you have the JBL Premium stereo with sub-woofer. If that is the case a 100.00 will not even touch anything.

I have the same system and have read just about everything there is to read. Bottom line is there are no easy or cheap upgrades. All the speakers have 2 Ohm impedance (aftermarket is usually 4 Ohm) and are matched to the JBL amp. You can't just use another amp unless you also use a signal processor.

There are some upgrade packages available from OEM+ Audio, 12Volt Tech and *********. I have read most about those systems as well and I am 98% sure I will use the JBL upgrade from OEM+ which costs 1159.00. The reviews I read are good and it is Plug & Play and fairly easy to install but you pay for the convenience. You may get by cheaper if you buy individual components but you have to know how to match them and how to adjust the signal processor...........I don't know that so I have to pay a little more.

Yeah it's the "premium" JBL which is everything but premium. I was thinking a decent speaker would help if I stayed around 2 ohms but maybe it's just not worth it.
I want to sound deaden the doors anyway. Maybe just that'll help a little bit.

A little of this and a little of that.

@Pudge maybe you wanna try this like this guy.... https://youtu.be/80stH6SGjIE

It looks to me like it would work pretty well. I’m gonna put some in my Tundra, especially since I added 2 - 12” Kicker CVT subs.
