Took my Tundra to shop and they replaced the starter. 5 days later went to start and got nothing. After towing it back to same shop they now say the "pigtail to the starter has gone bad". Is that possible or did they screw something up putting the starter in?

They could have messed it up. They don't usually " go bad" unless a serious current overload (as in "short") or shoddy workmanship.
