I'm thinking of picking my fromt end up just a little and was considering the 6112 at the 1.9 setting with 275/70/r18 on my 2017 TRD OR. Do the Tundras have lean like the Tacos, in other words will I need a shim on one side? As for rears I only realy just hit some gravel back roads that occasionally have some hairy spots here in the Ozark Mountains so I was thinking 5100 over 5160 and no rear lift. Does this sound like a good plan? Also should I get a diff drop to be safe or not? Thanks.

So to correct lean I might need a shim on the drivers side? What size 1/4"?

Just measure your truck and see if you have the lean. My 17 did not have a lean.

depends. I think I'm at slightly less than 1/2" right now. Need to add couple turns to my coil over. Or a shim.

Installed the 6112 at 1.9" about a month ago on my '17 Plat with no shim. Looks and rides great.

Guys with the 1.9 setting are you running anything in the rear?

I put the 5160's on the rear to serve as an equalizer to the front 6112s. No shackles on the rear. Just leveled the front at 1.9.

Now I'm wondering if I should do 5100 all the way around with the front on the middle setting and a driver's side shim. The only offroading I do is occasional gravel roads with some larger chunk rocks. I'm wondering if the 6112 would be overkill for my driving. I still want 275/70r18 on my factory TRD OR wheels and a level stance. The price difference between 5100 all the way around and 6112 with 5100 rear is pretty substanial for what I plan to do. What say you guys? I know the go all out mentality and that' normally my way of thinking but I'm starting to think I don't need the 6112 and the savings can go toward tires. Am I thinking sensable here?

Yea I was looking at those but would still need at least a 5100 or 5160 for the rear. With a pair of 5100 I'd be around $890 and 5160 around $1,100 plus install and alignment (I'll do rears myself). That's what's got me thinking 5100 all the way around for my minimal off road needs.

I was in the same boat but was also considering the boss kit , to me that was overkill for what i needed so went with the 6112's as a happy medium and have not regretted it. Heard a few stories of 5100's leaking and what not so that made up my mind, not to mention 6112's come with new coils, are massive and can be bought preassembled making install a breeze. Imo if you plan on keeping the truck for any amount of time I'd go with the 6112's if not 5100's will do just fine.

If you think you will be happy with the 5100 go for it. It definitely is a big $$$ difference but I also think the ride will be too. Why not install the whole kit yourself?

Considered insalling a preassemled 6112 kit myself but I don' have the proper tools (impact and big enough compressor for example) so thought having either 5100 or 6112 installed would be about as much as buying the tools

Maybe i should just wait a little bit to save the extra coin and get the 6112 preassemled at 1.9 with 5100 rears. I'm just kind of anxous to do something soon but probably should wait and do it right. I'm still just wondering if 5100 all the way around would suit my needs, give me the stance I want, and save me some $$.

Only thing I used impact for was the lugs, install is pretty straightforward with basic tool's.

Same here. Toughest one to break loose is the lower shock bolt. I believe torque on it is 130.

Why not just get the 6112's set at 1.9 and wait on the 5100 rear shocks. That will say some coin

So the total lift on a 6112 at top setting is 2.5?

My 6112s arrived. They are beefy as hell, can't wait to get these things on.

Sub'd... I'm interested to see what you end up with as I'm eventually going to do something similar. I had 5100s all around on my old Titan on the middle setting up front and the ride wasn't bad at all--I was coming from almost-blown-out shocks before, though...

I hate to upgrade shocks on my brand new '18 already since I feel like I basically just paid for "new" shocks when I bought the truck.
