    Thanks Jim,

Truthfully, it was your wheels and your truck that inspired me :). It does indeed shine with the wax job and tires/trim treated with WaxAddict. That's some really good stuff. Introduced my nephew to it and we coated his new Mini Cooper. He loves it as well.

BTW, if your in the Richmond area this coming weekend, I'm going to park the Tundra in the Cars & Coffee car show. Mine would look even better parked next to yours.

I ended up pulling the TPMS out of the old wheels. I know I was originally up in the air as to go with the 18" or 20", but decided to just stick with eh PRO 18".

The Cars & Coffee show is held every other weekend at:
    Regency Square Mall: 8 - 10am
    1420 N Parham Road
    Richmond, VA 23229

I've only been to it once but thought it was cool. I think it would be fun to have a Tundra presence and would be great to meet @Noodle if he's interested. No biggie either way. If you wish to read about them, their site is: http://carsandcoffeerichmond.com

    *** From The Beginning ***

Here is the Tundra on test drive of day of purchase. Probably was not a good sign on the mpg when gas was needed for the test drive.

Anyhow, after purchase, life was grand.... It was the greatest thing since sliced bread.... Life could not bet better..... Get home and... What can I mod????

I do a lot of hauling for the business and wanted to get the bed taken care of first. So, the first mods were:

    • BedRug bed liner
    • Rugged Liner II tonnear cover
    • AMP Bed Extender

    *** Suspension Mods ***

I would have to say that of the mods I've done, the greatest performing ones are:

Front Bilstein 6112 set at 1.9"

    Rear Bilstein 5160

    TRD Sway Bar

The TRD sway bar made a huge difference in handling and cornering. I really like the handling and drive performance after these 3 mods.

Easy mod today. I wanted to black out the chrome lugs on my TRD Pro wheels and discovered ColorLugs. A cheap alternative to purchasing new lugs. Black caps that simply go over the existing lugs. Approximate prep time: 5 seconds (open package), Approximate installation time: 2 minutes (stopped to take a drink).

Ok, continuing with my 2018 mod push and decided to try out the new '18 honeycomb grille with the non-sensor badge.

Thanks Trey! I like how the honeycomb grill turn out as well. Now I need to find homes for 2 '17 Platinum grilles (one black, and one stock silver).

Looks great. I would love to hear more about the ride and handling of your suspension upgrades? I want that setup but I drive a twisty highway every week and am worried about what it will be like compared to stock.

I absolutely love the setup I have.

Bilstein 6112 (front) & 5160 (rear) = A much firmer suspension ride that I like a lot. Keeps the wheels planted to the ground which I feel provides better control.

Nitto Ridge Grapplers = An "E" rated tire that is stiffer, but helps with reducing any roll in turns. Went with one size up from stock to help with the trail riding I do but also kept the weight down for better performance on the highway.

TRD Sway Bar = One of the best mods I've done. The off roading I do is mainly trail riding and does not require much flex. However, I do a lot of highway driving as well. My daily drive is Interstate driving with several Interstate merging and exists. With the combination of the sway bar with the "E" tires and Bilstein suspension, The truck takes these Interstate merges and exits like it's on rails. Very little roll if any. Some of these merges/exits, I don't even get off cruise control. Handles like a charm and could not be happier. As I mentioned earlier, the only reason to not use the sway bar is if you do off roading that will require flex. Otherwise, you only loose benefits of the sway bar.

Awesome thanks very much. I have had the TRD swaybar since new nad love it but dont know what stock was like. The change I am considering making is to the 6112/5112’s which is sounds like will be firmer than stock. So I assume body roll is less than stock but the shocks and springs are more responsive? I am running 285/55 R20 KO2’s which should be ok with the profile. One more question if you dont mind - have you done much towing with the truck levelled and if so does it handle ok?

Yes, the 6112/5160 combination is more responsive and definitely firmer over stock. May not be for everyone, but this is the ride I like so it suits me just fine. I also do quite a bit of towing of a 10' enclosed trailer with a cargo of about 2000 lbs for business and it handles just fine. Just completed a 2000 mile trip with no issues at all other than the horrendous fuel economy.
