I have a 2015 platinum crew max w/31000 miles that until now has been awesome. Went hunting with the daughter and when we returned all electrical was dead. fob wouldn't work to unlock. i used the key and tried the unlock button not a thing imidiately I'm thinking did I leave the lights on but remembered they automatically turn off.

Magically a minute later the dome lights came on and all electrical returned. I started it and ran to idle up like 5 sec and died. started it again and it ran.

A week went by without issue and it reared its head again today as my wife got fuel. same thing all electrical dead completely. she called me and i came down tester in hand. sure enough truck was dead but when i tested the battery it had 13.1 volts. its in great shape.opened up fuse box and hadn't done a thing when the dome lights came on line. told her to start it and again quick run idle up/die, and dead system again no lights anywhere dash, mirrors and dead ignition. pushed on all the fuses to see if the were loose from all dirt road driving during hunting and it all came on line again.. told her to hurry up and start it and she did. it started and idled really low at around 600 RPM instead of its usual 1,100 . she drove it home and now it sits..... being all mysterious, unreliable and beautiful like a bad girl friend. Any one have some advice??

I'd suspect a bad ground, or a bad battery. I've had a couple of batteries develop internal open circuits. They'll read the proper voltage with a meter, but they get flaky the minute the load hits. You could have a cell randomly opening and closing. For the ground, check all of the cables for corrosion and rust. The cable itself will corrode, but the connection to the body and frame could have rust. Good Luck, intermittent problems are the ones the mechanics hate the most.

Hello everyone! I found the problem, although I'm a little embarrassed on how easy it was to remedy. I started with the ground bolt to the fender and the negative post(both were clean). I then moved to the positive terminal and found it was clean also, but the leads that bolt down to it had rattled the nut loose on all the dirt road driving I had been doing. They were loose and arcing causing the intermittent problem. I had cleaned and re-oiled the K&N and i think that was the culprit of the low idle. cleaned the MAS on the intake and she purrs once again. Thanks for the advice you guys!
