The FFV engine is designed to tolerate up to E85. Running lower ethanol wouldn't necessarily mean it will last longer though.

    IMO

I have the flex fuel engine in my truck and I have had it for almost 2 years without any issues. There are no external 'ffv' decals on the truck, but I think all the 5.7's in the gulf states are flex fuel. The window sticker did show that the truck is a flex fuel. I don't think it's a big deal. I wouldn't worry about it :)

Checked mine and it is a FFV. It really doesn't make a difference to me, I never use E85 because the drop in MPGs. I also don't anticipate any problems, I had a F-150 5.0 and I think they are FFV and never had a problem.

Look on the bright side! When I take my truck in for service I will mention to the service writer that I do use E85, that way I will get an oil change every 5000 miles instead of every 10000 miles.

Seriously, you joined this forum just to rant? Welcome I guess. I noticed you listed, with no references, only the positives of ethanol mixes. Why not list the cons. Honestly, to me, you sound like you're trying to sell something, even down to your choice of forum name. You like ethanol, we get it. I agree it has pros, AND cons. Particularly for Tundra owners in my state, we already feed enough tax money into our BS state goverment at the pump, why would we want to have spend even more time at the pump on a less energy dense fuel and pay the same price? Just my opinion.

You joined a forum to respond to an almost 6 year old comment, immediately broke multiple rules in the forum, and for what? Do you feel better about yourself? I truly do hope this was a cathartic moment for you, but maybe next time peruse the forum rules before you just hop in to rant.

As someone that has never read any rules, what rules did he break by commenting?

Got political in his first post, and then moved on to insults in the second one. I know a lot of us dance in the grey areas of these rules - but there have been a lot of people joining, and then immediately breaking them recently, and it gets old seeing them sideline the good parts of the forum.

You would consider him talking about corn as political, and saying "whoever told you that is a moron" as insulting? Sheesh it's a miracle I haven't been banned yet

It was more talking about our government giving money to rich a-holes in other countries for crude oil, and our country lying about the reasons we go to war - but like I said, if someone that's been here for a while said something like that, it's one thing - but for someone to go off on a rant like that in their first post, just shows they're likely nothing but trouble in the future.
