Oh yea this one is going in the lower bumper like it was designed for. I was talking about the switch. I have the platinum so all the switch locations are stolen.

I also do not have any blank spaces open. While the supplied switch seems adequate, I didn't like the 2-way tape and exposed wire to the switch once mounted. I just swapped out a smaller toggle switch and placed near the emergency brake. While not the most easiest location, it's a lot cleaner than drilling holes into the dash. Although the 1794 plate from SDHQ does look sick. Just don't need that much switches

I used a tiny piece stamp size piece of 5# hold adhesive Velcro on the switch back and a tiny piece on the lower edge lower of the dash which holds it perfectly and out of the way under my steering column. I don't see the red LED light. All good and no permanent dash holes or glue.
Decided not to order the additional Headlight revolution light bar behind the grill as I have all the light I need now with this set up, and most importantly clean install. This light bar throws out a lot of seriously blinding light at the right level. Honestly this LB is more "eye candy" than use, so I am glad I kept the cost reasonable @$259.00 shipped, and my install.

Picked up my 2017 CM yesterday. I put 2 switches in the center console on my Tacoma and I am familiar wth it but not Tundra. Whole new learning experience. #1 I am going to put switch in blank left of steering wheel. Looks like the dash panel has to be cut whereas the Tacoma had a removable blank. #2 how do you remove the panel under the steering wheel? I have been looking at lights and want get something done soon.

I am sure someone will chime in. No blanks on my Platinum bro, so I went with the above.

I could do a search but I am not normally as successful here as I was on the Tacoma forum. There seems to be a lot more technical ad DIY info over there.

For those with no blanks a simple one drop of gorilla super glue does the job...i just peeled the backing off the sticky tape but later with the heat it would fall off...so i just put one drop of gorilla super glue held in place for a minute... BAM!!! Push button switch comes off no more

thanks. Tacoma was easy. I just popped blank out under HVAC controls ran a wire fish, tapped in the green white wire on the unused heated seat plug and done. The green white was for the back lighting on switch. At least I think green/white was positive and solid green negative. I have them written down at the house.

Funny thing is, I've tapped many different sources. I go into the fuse panel under the driver side dash, and meter what is hot when the key is turned to run, and goes dead when its turned off. Tundra specifically, I cant remember off the top of my head... I do a lot of these for many different vehicles, I usually use an "Add A Fuse" line tap.

Got mine this weekend and wired it up tonight. As previously mentioned, super nice mounts and easy install for the most part....only one question, how/where do you get the switch from the engine bay to inside the cab haha. I poked around a littler but it was getting dark. Where is the best place to get the wires through the firewall?

You can run a feeder wire (coat hanger) through the fire wall. Look up under your dash and you will see a large rubber grommet in your fire wall. I attached the non switch end of my wire to the coat hanger aka (CH) wrapped it with a fair amount of electrical tape. Sprayed it with silicone and gently pushed the CH through the firewall and then pulled the switch wire through into the engine bay. It slipped right through like butter.
Then I neatly zip tied my wiring harness and attached NEG THAN Pos to the battery, not difficult. I secured the relay to the battery ground point. Heads up just make sure you always attach your ground first to the battery or you could risk frying the LB. PM me if you have questions. No expert here, but this is what worked for me.
Since there are no blank switches on the Platinum, I opted to locate my switch here. It's out of the way and I don't see the red led directly. I can easily reach down and turn it on when needed. I used a tiny piece of 5# Velcro to hold a switch that weighs nothing lol. It has not moved.
    image.jpg

Discreet and out of the way, but functional, and no holes drilled.

Steve, correct no squeaks, pleasantly surprised by a seriously rock solid beefy mounts, and nicely powder coated.
Really satisfied with how my install went, and would buy again.

@Almaboy -Here you go bro, few I took a few pics this morning..light misty rain. Stop sign 100 yds away. Pic out side truck.

Inside- I now easily spot the herds of deer that surround our property.

In driveway full solar eclipse lol...don't ask about the mystery light bar on the roof haha, iPhone wizardry.

I know there are brighter LB's available, but for my fairly limited use and the reasonable cost and ease of install, this made sense and its blindingly bright.

Thanks Dave!! My use is minimal as well. I'm looking for an option a tad brighter than what I have and I think this might be it

Your welcome @Almaboy, glad if I helped you out. I don't think you will be disappointed, it's really blindingly bright and the fit and finish of the install is seamless.

@aramirez73 deserves the credit, he got me turned on to this LB.

    Thanks Adam!

Installed my bar this afternoon. Have to say once it’s in its rock solid and looks great. Lots of curse words getting it installed though. Much easier to install stuff on a Jeep.

Those bumper bolts are a royal pain in the a$& as well as getting that giant connector through the firewall rubber grommet. Going out to dinner tonight so we’ll see how it does on our deer infested back roads.

Some pics on my way home. I have to adjust it up slightly as it’s pointing a little too far down.

I think my truck must have had this with the previous owner before I bought it, because the lower grille is cut out just like that.

I just ordered this light. And like most everyone else, the little use it will get, just makes sense to save about $600. Also purchased the RC rocker switch.

Mine arrived yesterday and I will be installing this weekend. Mine will get a good amount of use driving the beach at night on the TX coast where it gets real dark. On my 15 Wrangler JKU that I just traded I had 2 LED cubes (fog pattern) on the bumper and 2 LED cubes (Spot) on the A-Pillar along with LED Fogs and LED headlights and that set up lit the beach up really well. looking forward to seeing how this bar compares.

I also just ordered the rocker switch to put install in one of the empty switch spots. I assume I just cut the existing switch off and then wire to the new rocker.
