I dunno. Kinda cramped under the hood. I was wondering if I could mount it somewhere underneath? When it arrives and I can see how big it is I'll have a better idea. I wanna plug-in near the rear wheel, just pull out a hose from under the back seat and connect. Which leads to another storage mod beneath the back seat. I'm thinking of making my own, either wood or fiberglass / carbon.

I would try to mount under the hood to protect it from the elements and shorter distance to run the power line. Plenty of guys have done it but they all fabbed their own custom mounts. Let me try to find.

When you're spending that much money on coil overs, they're all good and a huge improvement. I'd even consider the new Icon Omega stuff, especially the rears. The ADS, straight out of the box, have my front end about 3.5 - 4" higher than stock. Matt at MCM did a lot of R&D to get theses things tuned specifically for our trucks and is a nice guy to deal with.
Bottom line: I don't think you can go wrong with ADS, King, Fox or Icon. I'm happy with my ADS. Just pick the color that you like best...

Once I get a front bumper the shock will totally show. As much as I value Kings, I ruled it out on color alone. :spy:

And I was starting to lean towards Icon with the internal bumpstop, but Mark talked me out of it.

As of right now, I’m planning to drive down to Vegas for Christmas. Either I’m going to drop my truck off with MCM and get it installed or I’m picking it up and installing with Mark when I get back. So early January.

The "King Bling" was a bit too much for me too. And, I honestly believe ADS is better even though I have no evidence to support that belief.

Anybody want to squeeze in a trip before Christmas? The itch is getting strong. Maybe Dec 9th or 16th? Maybe do a muddy Hollister run if it rains? Need more experience on muddy trails.

Yeah, Thanksgiving is out for me too. And Christmas to New Year is my only true vacation of the year so that's out. But... in between... :cookiemonster:

I can't give you a definitive answer right now, but I'd like to get another run in this year. Muddy trails would be good experience. Maybe an early snow run?

Snow sounds good too. None of us have real snow experience, huh? :D Let's start thinking about it and tentatively aim for one of those two weekends.

Seriously though, I tried out my new polisher and feel like I can get rid of most of the pinstripes. You can borrow it one of these days.

I converted a 5" porter cable sander to a polisher (model 7335). I'm using Meguirar's (clear coat safe) rubbing and polishing compound on DMC5 and DFP5 pads respectively.
I'm by no means in your league when it comes to this stuff. So, if you've got any advice or recommendations I'm all ears.
