    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can give me some guidance. I had my HIDs professionally installed and it was fine for a few months. However, about 2-3 months ago, my left headlight keeps shutting down while my lights are turned on. I have to manually turn it off and turn it back on and it will last for about 10-15 mins before shutting down again. It's starting to be really annoying as I have to turn on /off my headlights like 5-6 times for a 30 mins trip. Any thought?

Probably ground in the side isn’t making a good contact, also check the 9006 connectors I had bad experiences with them sometimes the motocontrol terminals are loose and wiggle maybe a broken locking tab in the connector that happened to me when had retros in my truck

I had something similar... Turned out to be the igniter. Swap the igniters over between sides, see if the bad light changes sides. If not, swap the ballast. If after that it's still the same side that's faulty, it's probably a bad ground

Bad igniter, swap them as suggested to test.

I would contact the actual manufacturer of the lights. Sounds like a bad ballast possibly. Something heating up and causing shut down ? Keep us posted what you find out. Good luck.......

I'm not sure, but swapping parts over can help you narrow it down. Like previously mentioned, the manufacturer may he able to help.

    Good luck, keep us updated.

Check your ground. My retrofits started doing this a few months ago. Just one side. After swapping bulbs and ballasts side to side I noticed the ground wire was stripped in the sleeve

Yea I have and they tested for 30 mins and the light was fine so they just put everything back together and sent me home. I think this time I'm going to record it and show them a clip in addition to testing the lights again.

    Kevin,

I had HID system before and I used the factory grounding points.

The one by the air box and the other one by the fuse box under the hood.

Can’t go wrong with factory grounds.
