Helpping a friend with his 2011 double cab. 4HI & 4LO flashing back and forth, ABS and Anti skid light on. Pulled the code and said bad rt rear speed sensor. Changed it and still flashing. Has anyone else had this issue. Dealer wants to change harness from the engine compartment to the rear of the truck at $3900. But said that may not fix it.

isn't that when you need to do a zero point calibration? What happened before he got the flashing lights - did he happen to plug in techstream or something?

no, it started with the 4hi-lo flashing back and forth, within a couple of days the abs and anti skid came on. He took it to the dealer. they charged him $400 just to check it and came back with the hi estimate

I had this issue in my tacoma. Check the kick panel on the driver's side and see if water got down into where the connector is and gummed it up.

Dealer wanted 1800 to redo the harness. It ended up costing me a can of electrical cleaner 20 minutes and some dialectical grease. -Jon

A buddy had this. It was a broken wire in the harness to the wheel sensor. Dealer ran a new single wire. No idea the cost.

we went through a series of parts swaps because I had the parts on the parts. First the the injection pump, no luck. Then the rear ABS wiring, no luck. Then I took it to a shop that specializes in wiring issues, bingo, broken wire somewhere in the right side to the rear. They ran a separate wire and that fix the ABS issue, not the 4 wheel drive issue. The actuator in the transfer case is bad. Two issues that manifested themselves within 2 days of each other.
