I decided I did not like all the crome on my limited grill so I dipped it in black. Once I had it all apart to spray I got the idea to put on some LED's behind the Toyota Emblem on the grill.

This was a ~8.5" stainless pot lid i picked up from the local good will for $2. I took my dremmel and removed the handle and then put in my vice. Squeezed it until it was about 5".
I also removed material from the top and bottom of it in this picture so it would lay flat in the slot of the grill. I also sprayed it with black paint on the outside and then glued it in once I had the LEDs in place.

Here is a view from the front. You can see the polished stainless pot lid behind the grill.

Here are the waterproof LEDs from SuperBrightLEDS.com. I used the wife's hot glue gun toset the LEDs in place along with gluing the wires in one of the grill channels to run it to the outside.

Very nice! Did you install a separate switch or does it come on with headlight/parking light?

Tied it into the running/parking lights on the drivers side and it's the purple wire. No switch. It's on when the trucks on.

Leer topper, MagnaFlow, TRD CAI, TRD Hvy skid plate, and I want less chrome!
There was a year or two with the early mustangs where they were "corralled" and had an light option.
    Brilliant work!

Excellent! I have been thinking of removing the emblem and replacing with some type of lexan/LED creation.

Wonder how this would look without the stainless lid background...that seems like the hardest part.
