I'm seriously thinking of making one of these out of 4-5" PVC pipe. 3 feet with caps on each end. A T fitting with another cap that can thread on to fill it. A faucet on one end and a release valve on the top of the other end. I can't justify spending $250 to carry 3.3 gallons of water. Mount it right above the wheel well so it won't block my bed lights.

I like the idea of this for sure.. especially since I hit the beach and lake a lot.. 3 gallons not a lot tho.. 5-7 would be legit

My buddy is a welder and made himself one but it was heavy and didn't work like this one. He scrapped his. This one is all I need so I bought it. Yeah the 3.3 gallons is on the low side but for day trips it will be good enough. If needed I can always bring extra water and I always have a compressor.

Does look to be way cheaper. Just more time consuming. Where the waterport is just plug and play, I see this as me making a big mess, which is still cool.

I thought about making a similar setup but ended up mounting a cheap boat wash down kit from Amazon in the bed.

People have been doing this with large PVC pipe for a long time. Not sure I see the advantages with this one considering the high price.

The advantage is that you don't have to spend hours working on a design that won't work half as good as this one. Not to mention some people care about looks, I rather not have a bunch of ugly pvc pipe in my truck bed.

High price? Its $250 and comes with hose, nozzle, brackets, etc. I would say its definitely reasonable priced. If it cost anymore than what it is now I probably would've passed. For me to get all the pieces to assemble it myself along with mounting it and then who knows how good it would've worked this was the way to go for me.
Especially since my friend who does some fabricating and tinkering made one for himself and scrapped it. I knew right then this was the way for me.

My plan is to carry 1 or 2 of these 5 gallon jugs when needed. And I always have a compressor in the truck.

You can carry additional water and refill it as many times as you like. Just need a small air compressor that plugs into your 12v socket.

This thing has come in handy so many times since I’ve had it.

    Wash off fishing gear

    Rinse bikes off

Wash hands after working outside in the woods

Wash sand off feet after walking the beach

Definitely one of my favorite/most useful mods.
