    Birthday Shenanigans - May 31st, 2017

Never posted up the little prank my buddies pulled off for my bday. Definitely a good time hanging out with good friends  Probably a good thing I didn't have anymore pics from that weekend ;) We started out at Florindinos for pizza then hit the bars in downtown Chandler
    [IMG]

While we were waiting for the rest of the guys to show up @PLC721 and Jamie told me someone was messing with my truck outside....Behold their prank and bday present haha

Pretty funny walking out to that since I was getting ready to beat somebody, I ended up rocking it around town the next day. Nobody wants to play with me! haha not even the kids at chucky cheese next door to our hotel.....

Interested to see where you mounted your CB and HAM radios? Haven't seen them in any of the pics in this thread, unless I missed them.
I was thinking of doing something like this with my CB, but it seems there isn't that much room down there.

THREAD BUMP! OP Updated and plenty of updated pics coming soon

Actually I only have handheld HAM and the CB is mounted under my driver seat. I'll be getting rid of the little uniden CB tho and prolly changing too a low pro Cobra CB like this one. Definitely don't use the CB as much anymore. Everyone should just upgrade to HAM! :D

Yes, they should. It isn't difficult and the range and sound quality blow CB out of the water.

Oracle Control Road to Mount Lemmon Sunday Adventure - July 23, 2017

Some of the best adventures are spontaneous! On our way back home from Phoenix on a Sunday my Wife and I were driving toward Mt. Lemmon and noticed the huge rain clouds starting to build up. With a few nods back and fourth it was an easy to decision to take the scenic detour back to Tucson!

As soon as we made our way up the Control Road we noticed the clouds were moving pretty quick and started to lose faith in hitting a monsoon...yes we love the rain!

From there we stopped a couple times to let our little buddy Johnny Cash out to stretch his legs. Even if it didn't rain it was an overcast nice and cool afternoon
    [IMG]

Sure enough the higher we got the more mud we hit but also noticed a rain cell on approach with a light drizzle!

Once we hit pavement up top we drove to Mt. Bigelow and then... RAIN!!

It was awesome! Full blown Monsoon dumped on us for a good 45 minutes! So much water it made all the little creeks run and we basically had the whole mountain to ourselves. Before we headed back we stopped at our favorite camp spot up there, Camp Four Hatchet

How's your reception while driving with your handheld Ham? Does it work with the whole group on the trail? I'm going this route, but trying to figure out whats best for the typical AZ runs (handheld or mobile). CB is so 1990!

Hell yea they do, thanks man! Yours is coming along too, I've been creepin on there looking at all your mods. I'll be ordering the FRACv2 today and using your thread for help
I was born in 1990  so yea lets retire that and keep on keepin on! For trail runs using MURS it works pretty damn good inside of a mile going through hills and such. I don't currently have a HAM license yet. From when we rolled with a licensed group using a HAM 2m channel, it was literally flawless on the mobiles.

North Rim, Grand Canyon / Labor Day Weekend Trip - September 1st-4th, 2017

Our good friend Mike of Pelfreybilt Offroad was turning 29 this year so we made sure to start the beginning of the last year of his 20s in a big way! (that was hard to type out ) With that said, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon was the destination and was also my first time ever being there! Needless to say I was pretty stoked to try something new and also see the Grand Canyon for the first time in about 14 years. It was a long trek making our way up, but every epic adventure starts right here...

We met up with Mike at his house in Flagstaff that first night and would convoy out early the next morning with the rest of the crew. While packing up it was apparent Canyon Coolers were popular amongst the group and in a couple different sizes. I actually just picked up the new Canyon Scout 22QT for this trip to go with my Outfitter 55QT  #whatsayeti #canyoncoolersgetitdone
    [IMG]

Yet another trip to the pumps... haha met up with our convoy and last prep before heading North!

Made a small pit stop at Jacob's Lake. Cool little place to stretch the legs after a pretty boring drive in the flats. Now we were headed South toward the North Rim. Yes I was a solo Tundra in our group. #WNABXPO haha when you see it ;)

North Rim, Grand Canyon / Labor Day Weekend Trip - Continued

Back at Camp I finally got to use my new annex since the first one didn't come with a zipped floor, and also the first time with the BAMF bedrack

Later the next day we finally rolled out of camp for the best adventure of the trip! We were headed to Sublime Point on the North Rim! This originally was the place we wanted to camp, but with the size of our group and need for a campfire we had to camp outside of the North Rim Park boundary. Little did we know Point Sublime was about a 3 hour trek away with all our stopping and such. It was worth every minute as we made our way through the trail taking in the scenery

We were like little kids making our way to Disneyland! The closer we got to the point it was becoming clear why it was names point SUBLIME!

Point Sublime is definitely on the list for a return camp trip! It was pretty breathtaking and I wish we spent more time up there. Moving on, I quickly realized how important it is to download maps for navigation before any adventuring! I broke one of my own rules assuming we'd have service the whole time, which was a mistake haha Point Sublime would be the first time since leaving Jacobs Lake we got any sort of signal. I was able to download our route back to camp, a much quicker trail than the route we took to get there, using my LeadNav app. With evening approaching it was another awesome drive back to camp especially through the really dense forest
    [IMG]

Pulled off one more time to regroup...we had a straggler in the group...

TRON was properly decorated with the trail by the time we returned to camp
    [IMG]

Heading out to check out the actual North Rim Park. We said our goodbyes to most of the group but Mike and Dakota in the black LT Taco stuck around. Dakota actually visited us all the way from Washington!!

    Chiva Falls PreRun - October 8th, 2017

With the big trip planned to Chiva Falls on the 21st, I wanted to make sure the trail didn't drastically change since we had seen it back in May. If I'm hosting any sort of event a PreRun is a must, as well as locating a big enough area to camp for the size group we're expecting. Travis @SuperiorDetail in his 2wd Sunset Bronze, Ryan @Help in his Blue Ribbon Metallic, & Kris @boardude in his Inferno Pro all tagged along for the ride! It was a full size Tundra Sunday Funday

We took the "2wd/Easy" route into Chiva, didn't wanna get hung up on the 3 Feathers Obstacle on the "4x4/Hard" route. I figured we'd save that for the camping trip out there so for those coming out be prepared! ;)

So we've decided to camp in this wash since it provides the most shade and biggest area for a large group of trucks. Exact location in the wash will be based on how many trucks actually show up Saturday morning of the 21st

The bed slides are a game changer! I'm not sure how that one mounts, but our Jotto had these cross bars underneath and I didn't like how they attached, or how much they weighed, or how tall they made the slide, so I deleted them and attached the races directly to the bed. Take a peek at yours, you might be able to gain some space if you wanted. Headroom is at a premium for us, so it was worth it. You have a better height rack, so it may be no biggie.

I appreciate it man! More pics to come over the last 2 months! I think this is the going trend for my build, to keep you all waiting for the next adventure pic dump!

For all you AZ Tundras or nearby followers willing to make the drive, there's a massive TOYOTA meet coming up on January 20, 2018! There will be vendors and prizes with the usual BBQ, BS, good vibes and of course some mild off-roading
