AIP issue ? you should be covered under warranty. I think it's 10 years/150K

First thing I asked. They said it didn't extend to 2012 models.

In which case, I opted out and found a solid independent guy specializing in toyotas. Bringing it in to him Tuesday, see what he has to say.

Figure if dealership's gonna f*** me over with the warranty, I'm not letting them do the same with price.

Nope. BS. I had this on my previous 2012 and was fixed by dealer at no charge. Call a different toyota dealer

In the meantime, get something to clear the codes if needed so you aren’t stranded.

I didn't know that this had already been fixed on your old 12 (my current 12). If this had already been fixed is it still necessary to do the AIP relocation kit from SDHQ? I still have it in my garage from when I ordered it in July.

Law hopefully this independent guy can get this taken care of for you. I hate that all dealers will tell you something different.

Lol I was on my way back from a ride along with my buddy in Weld at like 2AM and negative temps ...Next day I brought it in.

Yes I would. That simply moves water away from it (think of any high water u may have to cross- another flooding)

That's what I was thinking better to do it and not worry. Have you and Brian done yours yet? If not we should schedule a Mod Day.

Toyota supposedly extended it to 2012 models starting this year from what I read on another forum. Seems like they are adding a new year every year moving forward. Call Toyota HQ and open a ticket.

Isn't this the same issue that has plagued nearly all year second gens and even some 1st gens?

I wan't to say there is a bypass module that tricks your truck into thinking that the pump is functioning properly?

Probably way cheaper than fixing it, if it is indeed the same problem.

Could have swore that one was always labeled as the secondary air injection pump and is only used to control emissions on a cold start.

Yup, do the bypass until Toyota adds the 12's to the list. It's seriously some booshit. It's the exact same problem and for them not to cover it because it happened to you quicker... :annoyed: AIP and cam tower leak... only 2 problems with our trucks. Get it fixed Toyota!!!

    That I am definitely doing!

And as far as doing it myself, man I can do enough stuff on trucks but I'm not comfortable at all taking off the manifold. I wouldn't mind trying with someone that knows their shit AND a garage LOL both of which I don't have right now. All the guys I know up here in Memphis are automotive impaired. They ask ME about their trucks and I could probably write a few pages on what I know....that's it. So pickings are slim in metro areas. Paragraph one: there is no such thing as blinker fluid.
    Paragraph two:.......
