What LEDs did you put in there? I was considering the 2018 fogs also...but if your LEDs are cheaper, may do that.

Those harnesses does not have a PNP DRL harness. You would have to wire them up to the stock DRL relay in order for them to dim. Stock Platinum/1794 harnesses have the dim feature, just not SR5/Limited/Pro since they do not come with LED DRL's from factory.

Toyota does not have the feature where the DRL's turn off when blinkers are engaged. The DRL's do not dim to allow turn signals to perform better at night, they only dim because DRL's are not needed at night while headlights are on. When the headlights are on, the main LED headlights are so much more brighter than the DRL's that they drown out the DRL's. Having the DRL's on all the time wont effect or interfere with DOT standards of stock turn signals or headlights.

@eledobleu can make them dim pnp but it’s gonna be more than 200 since more parts are needed.

I didn’t say Toyota had “DRL off with turn on”. The headlights don’t drown out the DRL’s when on Hi/bright. If you have the headlights ON with the DRL’s ON bright(day or night)the turn signal beam drowns. The “effective luminous intensity” of the turn signal is lowered. It’s all in the design of the headlight. Where each thing is located, how far apart and so on. This is why the DRL’s go on LOW with the headlights on. The turn signals MUST meet minimum requirements for visibility.

Yes the price would be more so around $350 as a Relay is needed to be added and more wiring. If those of you that feel you need the Dim function for non Platinum tundras please let me know

I stand corrected, nice post! I have OEM platinum retrofit with Panamera DRL Shrouds for the past 2 years (non platinum Tundra). My LED's do not dim when headlights are on "bright all the time". Never had any problems or issues. Yes the headlights do drown out the DRL's. When im driving behind a vehicle, only thing people see are my headlights. You must understand that we drive a full size truck with the majority of people running lift kits. Even without a lift kit our trucks headlights blinds all cars and most SUV's directly in front of us as we sit higher off the ground. Anyone within that distance of 10ft in front of us will not see our parking lights or DRL's as the headlights will be shining onto their vehicles.

Yea regardless what we think looks good or not. The DOT standards are there for reasons we like or don’t like. Lol just like you said our trucks are lifted to certain heights and even that has a bumper height requirements lol but screw it it looks good, right? Lol so many rules and regulations. Most of the things we do to our cars or trucks are for off road purposes anyways.

Regardless, good job on producing these harnesses. Now our trucks look good as far as the headlights go.

I’m not taking sides but @eledobleu did the harness this way because the majority of the people out there wanted a PLUG n PLAY harness “the easy route” without doing the dirty work themselves and making them 100% OEM function. So the only option was to keep the drl hi’s on all the time in a PNP harness and most people don’t know better and it kept the cost down. Cause in reality he’s not making much off these harnesses once parts ordered/built/shipped

As you mentioned this I figured this before too, but not so easy to make it on mass production for Leo or anyone doing harnesses :D

Is it possible for that to be added to an existing harness? I kind of want to have them installed and see how they do before I decide I want the DRL dimming.

All emails have been sent! If you did not receive an email, please send me an email at eledobleuretrofits@gmail.com

And please remember to have patience. These harnesses take time to make. They may take weeks to get down the list.

I’m in no way knocking anything he is doing. Just saying how and why Toyota has the lights working that way. I 100% understand why he makes the harness that way. It’s not easy to have them dim. People can do anything they want.

I don't think I realized the amber blinkers stay on with the DRL LEDs also? I looked at some other pictures and they aren't on....

This is because @Bable985 left his parking lights connected in the turn signal when he repined the socket, if he want to get rid of the amber parking light he have to de-pin, cover and secure it with tape

Yeah me too! The only bummer is the dash/navi dims when you turn the parking lights on....so, in sunny Texas....I can't see my screen. Curious...do you guys have any ideas for brighter blinker bulb? Seems pretty dim and much smaller than the old front blinkers. Anyone tested any LEDs out yet?
