Bilstein 5160 Boots?

    I will be installing 5160s on the rear this weekend and have a question about using boot covers. I did order a pair of universal boots thinking that since the rod is down, the boot would provide more protection from road trash. Is this reasoning correct or is there a practical reason to go with or without boots?
