What AR's do you have and what calibers.

I run the Alexander Arms heavy use bolts. That way there is no confusion for me. Never had head space issues or broken extractors. If it ain't broke....

 

Good to know I have heard that the 6.5 bolts can be a little touchier.

 

I have heard of it, though never witnessed it. How much of it is a design issue? How much of a shooter issue? I'll lean towards shooter because there are always issues like hot loads or over gassed as a couple of examples. Now that being said, I always have a spare bolt and a couple of extractors. I have about 8400 rounds through my first 6.5G and the only issues I have had are 2 magazines that just wouldn't feed right and 1 primer fizzle (Wolf, 1 out of 2500 rounds).

Here's mine, Ruger 556.

 

If AR stands for automatic rifle then I have 3. 2-30-06s and a .22. 30-06s are Remington 740s. One is the BDL carbine style and one just plain BDL.

Started to assemble my new 6.5 Grendel don't quite have all the pieces yet but had to start putting it together. Here's a couple of teaser pictures.

 

I'm digging it. What barrel and bolt/bolt carrier did you go with. Love my Grendels.

The barrel is a McGowen Precision 20" rifle gas and a JP Precision 6.5 enhanced Bolt I will probably run a WMD NIB X bolt carrier .
Going with a Timney 3lb skeletonized trigger as always.

Is this your first 6.5G? This is pretty much all I take to the range anymore and my 7.62/308.

 

I have a 1971 Colt SP1. It was the first AR model Colt released for sale to the public. It doesn't have the forward assist knob, but I've never had it jam. Shoots like a dream...tack driver at 100 yards with factory open sights.

 

Yeah I wasn't going to build one but decided to. I really enjoy my 204 and the 6x6.8 wildcat.

 

The only time my 556/223's come out is to shoot alot of ammo with my brother-in-law.

 

I have 2 AA a 20" and a 11.5 waiting to be built along with an 18" Saturn waiting to be built.
My 16" is a Bear Creek upper that I am very pleased with considering I only paid $260 for it and ANOTHER $80 for a AA bolt.

 

Very true, I do the same with my boys.

 

Once I get some cases I will probably build a 6mm LBC.

 

Have you looked into the 224 Valkyrie yet?
Talked to a guy from JP precision Friday sounds like it will preform. The damn 22 Nosler was kind of a joke.

 

I am holding off on completing my two builds because the boss said gears and LSD or guns, not both.

 

I know what you are saying. I do side work for all of my gun money. Hell my truck money also. Lol

 

Anyone in Denver area that needs an AR armorer for fixing or upgrading ect. can let me know. My step dad is a firefighter that does this work on the side. He has all the tools he needs at his place. He is low priced as he enjoys the work. He has custom built many many rifles.

 

2 Colt .223/5.56's with some extra tools to make life easier.

Someday I hope to pickup a Daniel Defense SBR.
