Do you have shackles in rear or blocks!

2" Blocks. I wanted to keep the truck level. And the 6112's I have set to lift the front 1.75". Bilstein said that setting (#2) would give the best on road ride. And frankly it still does great on any dirt, gravel, washboard etc. that I come across, but unlike some I almost never go offroad. Changing the tire lifted another inch.

I've read through this thread several times but I'm still a bit confused. I've made a lot of progress in at least deciding that I want to do the 6112/5160 setup!
What I don't understand is some have 6112s on middle (1.75") on the front and 5160s on the back with nothing else. Others have 5160s on the back but with 2" shackles or blocks in the back and also consider this to be level. What am I missing?

On a separate note, what's the reason for doing 5160s on the back in the first place?
I'll be adding this to a brand new off the lot 2017 CrewMax.

The 6112's all LIFT the front of the truck. There are 5 settings from around 1" to 2.5". The different settings make the shock work differently. For offroad (the main purpose of this shock) you would likely want the highest setting (more ground clearance and more shock travel). But lifting the front of your truck will change the angles of the tires and suspension. Plus just lifting the front can lead to a nose high look, which I hate. I actually choose this entire shock package, not for offroad, at all, but for on road. My truck came with 20"s rims and really stiff shocks and it was brutal. It made my organs hurt. (and I'm only 45!) So I called Bilstein, spoke with the Toyota shock design people and said, What is the BEST setup you can sell me for a smooth On-road ride? They said 6112/ 5160. And to use position #2 on the 6112's which are adjustable. So that's what I did. I didn't need a 50k truck that I hated to drive. I read on here about other peoples problems with lifting just the front and decided blocks sounded like they had fewer problems than shackles and got some installed at the same time they put the new shocks on. With the new shocks the truck rides soooo much better. And when I hit a gravel road or the like I can tell these shocks have so much potential that I'm not touching. But that's ok. Now I like my trucks ride! I also went on to change out tires for Yokohoma AT G015's with a 60 sidewall which lifted the truck another 1" or so, but more importantly gave me more sidewall and air between the rim and road. It helped my ride another bit. Now my truck rides almost as well as my 05 and 06 Tundra's, which were Smoooooooth. (You can see that I too have a 2017 Crewmax.) I was never after lifting my truck almost 3"s but I have to say... I love the way it looks. And adding the cap/ bedliner/ shocks/ blocks and tires only changed my fuel economy about 0.5 mpg. However I recently added a custom aluminum ladder rack which DID change my fuel economy... about 2 mpg's (and that is with a fairing!)

I installed the 6112/5100 last week; the 6112 are at the highest setting and the rear looks lower, can I add blocks in the rear to make the truck level with the front?

either the +1 or +2 might get you level, others will chime in and help. I bought the +2's haven't installed mine yet because my 2017 is level where I like it, I have a 6112/5160 setup maybe thats why mine seems a bit level, 6112's at top setting!

Here is what the truck looks like today... maybe my eyes are playing a trick on me.

I've got the 6112/5160 set up as well. My wife thinks the nose is a higher. My tape measure says even. That's from ground to fender.
Bust out a tape and check.

Yep it may look higher but I measured even! Though it may get a little higher when you go balls to the wall!

@judge, to confirm, Bilstein suggested position 2 from bottom (1.3" lift) for the smoothest on-road, or position 2 from top (1.9")? Is your profile pic this setup?

I have been looking for a few weeks now trying to figure out what lift I want on my truck. I am new to lifts but after reading a lot think I have a fair understanding, at least in theory lol. I have a 2014 CM TRD Off Road and I plan on going with 6112/5160 on top setting with Toytec Shackles middle setting like @Muleycrazy13 and 35" Toyo Open Country R/Ts. I'm guessing that I might have to trim some areas for proper fit, but is a diff drop kit, stirring stops and/or new UCA's needed or is that pretty much 4" and above before you need to worry about it? Main goal is to fit the 35" Toyo R/Ts and a better ride than the stock TRD Off Road suspension.

Sorry about the delay. Yes, the #2 position is the second shortest length. The one that adds around 1.25" lift to the truck. After 10,000 miles I am still very happy with the ride. It is night and day better onroad, and offroad or washboard, or anything bumpy is even more improved. I can't believe the shocks my Tundra came with. It rode like a backhoe. And backhoes don't have suspensions. And yes I think all my pics are after I did the shocks (all 4) and the 2" blocks in the rear. Bilstein was super nice. During the call the girl reached out to the guys who actually do the Tundra development for their best ideas. Maybe this picture shows the truck a bit better. In this pic the rear of my truck is probably 1 to 2 inches below the front. When I see it in a lot it look flat to slightly high in the rear, which is what I prefer. I just measured... ground clearance at the bottom of the step bar at the front mounting point is 13 1/8" and at the rear mounting point it is 13 3/4".

Beautiful truck. This is the exact look I am going for. What size shackles did you go with. I just ordered the 6112/5160 with 2" coachbuilder shackles and two shims. I have been debating if I need the shims or 3" shackles. Do you have shims on your setup?

I currently have a 3/1 leveling kit on my Tundra and I am running 35x12.5x18. Will the 6112/5160 kit allow me to continue running these tires? I didn't have to do the BMC, and I have plenty of clearance. If so, what settings would I be able to run? Thanks guys!
