We recommend 12 gauge for the wiring on our OnX6 and S8 LED Light Bars.

I would not use the economy harness included with pairs. With that amount of power draw you will want 12 gauge wiring and relay for extra protection. Here would be the wiring harness for you:
    https://www.bajadesigns.com/products/s8-ir-wire-harness-w-mode-2-bar-max-325-watts.asp

Note: You will have to purchase a splitter and change the connections to match our Squadrons. The Squadron uses a 2-pin connectors where the S8 uses a 3-pin.

Thanks! Sure wouldn't want to start an electrical fire under the hood.

    Bailey,

Any chance of getting light covers/rock guards for the S2 flush mounts, or is there not enough room to snap one on? I would love an amber rock guard for mine haha

    Randy,

Unfortunately we won't make Rock guards for the Flush Mounts as there is minimal room to attach the guard. The lip on the flush mount bezel is very small. We do offer Amber lenses!

*S2 Amber Driving/Combo and S2 Amber Wide Cornering lenses will be on the site soon.

Ok, so I have an issue.

I installed the 40" S8 bar and used the Baja Designs wiring harness. I cut the wiring for the secondary backlight switch since I don't want or need it. Using the toggle switch provided in the kit, the light bar turned on no problem. Everything was fine, except that's an ugly switch and I wanted the factory look. So I wired up this switch: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G1W7YZ4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 that I bought a few months ago, and it worked. I the button and the bar turned on, the LED lights in the switch turned on. I could even hear the relay working. I turned the light off, everything went off. I pressed the on button again and nothing happened. The bar didn't turn on, the LEDs in the switch didn't work either. I then removed that switch and plugged in the one that came with the wiring harness. Still didn't work. I checked the fuse and it was intact. I even replaced it with a new one just in case. Is the switch not rated for that bar and amperage it draws? Is the relay fried?

    HELP!

You may try to temporary bypass the relay and power the light directly from the fused power (just to double check that the light is still working). If it does not power on, you will need to double check the ground and power connections. If the light does power on, then the issue would be the relay or the switch, but you said you put the old switch back in. If you have a volt meter you can check the switch wire has power at the relay. If the switch wire has power and the fused power wire has voltage at the relay, then you may need a new relay.

Well I feel like an idiot. I got to work just now and decided to pop the hood and take another look, to make sure nothing came loose/ grounded out. Weeeeellllll.... one of the wires supplying the power wasn’t fully plugged in. It works now.

Let that be a lesson to ya kids, always check your homework before starting a thread on the internet that’ll make you look like a twit. Guess I should of got more than 4 hours sleep before doing this. Oh well.

Hey Bailey, would that switch that I linked still work for long term use even thought the wiring to it (about 3") isn't the same gauge as the rest of the harness?

I haven't personally used those switches so I can't say how the quality is but one thing I just noticed is they're rated at 3.0 Amps. All of our upgraded harnesses have switches rated at 30A. Even though you're using a relay the switch is seeing some load. How much? I'm not exactly sure but It's significantly reduced compared to a no-relay setup.

The Squadron Sport in Wide Cornering (Amber or White) would be considered street friendly (not street-legal) and will provide at least 2-3x the usable light over OEM. We have many customers running these without issues and the kit is 100% Plug and Play when you purchase the following:

If you want great quality plug and play bright lights, the Squadron's will not disappoint. They are bright, very bright.

My retro's light up well enough for city driving so I reserve my Squadron's for back roads when there's nothing oncoming or inclement weather. It's unreal how much they light up the night.

I have the combo sport kit and it is perfect. Won't disappoint. Make sure to get the bezel kit with it. This set up integrates with your stock switch but won't be able to use when your high beams are on. I think I might install a bypass switch to do this.

The squadron sports should outshine those though. Has double the led counts.
