Yep, the truck didn't even have 5000 miles on it....from a tree. It was repaired asap.

I forgot you live in Avon. Hell we have a time share up there. I'll hit you up the next time I'm up there, buy you a some beers at Beaver Liquors.

Beware the might as wells. Back when I had a gate post jump over and hit mine, I took it into the shop and during the inspection we noted various dings and scratches that had previously gone unnoticed. Short story -> long, a dented fender resulted an a full-on paint job for the whole truck.

I'm still shoveling breakfast into my face. :cookiemonster: I have to coordinate a ride with a friend yet too. The estimator commented that he thinks they've sprayed everything but the tailgate. They removed the cargo box and both windscreens. I'm trying to resist speculation until I actually set my gaze on it and poke my nose around. The estimator did say that they weren't able to get the rear window re-tinted. Their guy travels to do this and isn't scheduled to be back in the area til next week, I can schedule with him and charge them. I'll know more this evening. Eager to get my ride back.:dancingbacon:

I'd like to set then ablaze, but they're common property, and they'd probably start the surrounding forest on fire. I should put that idea out of my mind, kinda bad. :bananadead:

I had a dent like those in the a-pillar removed using paintless dent repair once. You couldn't even tell the dent was there once they were done. You would be surprised what they can remove without damage to the paint.

I am gleeful to now have my truck back. It really looks pretty well done, from the perspective of someone that's not knowledgeable about bodywork. The paint match is indistinguishable to my eyes, on the driver side the cab was repainted but the cargo box was not and I can't see a difference outside of the wear and tear on the box when I put my nose right up to it. Different angles and lighting don't make a difference. They found some more small damaged areas. The roof being one, he said it was kind of like hail damage, the more you look, the more you find.

They removed the box to facilitate getting the clear coat on the back corners of the cab. They removed both windscreens to make the repairs to the cab roof and to repaint. I'm not sure why they weren't able to reinstall them (neglected to ask at the time) rather than replace them with new glass, the front was only a couple years old. I'll still need to connect with their tint guy to get the rear done. The new front doesn't have the tint at the very top like the one they removed. I'm going to ask to have their guy add a strip there when he does the rear on their dime.

The only "errors" that I've noticed so far are a black smudge on the driver seat cover, I'm sure I find something to clean it. They re-installed my factory antenna in place of my stubby, I called and left a message asking that they dig around for it. I just happened to stash the OEM one behind the seat. Forgot it was there honestly. There was a new nick in the leather of the steering wheel, not even going to mention it to them. I can see some very minor superficial scratches in the newly painted areas that were likely from reassembly, stuff like that is going to happen and you have to really look for it. A couple places where I can see that chips in the paint appear to have been painted over, not filled. There's a touch of over-spray on the driver window, chemicals will take care of that. That dent on the driver side of the hood? I can see no indication whatsoever of their work outside of a little dried up wetsand residue when I open the hood and look at the underside edge. I know that they didn't replace it, there's still that slightly dirty patina on the underside. The driver front fender was replaced though. I guess that they broke the brake/cargo lamp on the top of the cab, there's a new one in the parts list. This is not a restoration, it's better than it was for sure. The total came to $10.5K, my deductible was $1k. The most expensive parts were the side view mirrors at $700 ea (holy shit), they were from a Limited and what I had on the truck when the damage occurred. Now the mirror caps are nick-free.

The only things I'm going to get sorted are the tint and the antenna. My little bubble now seems to be back in order.
