Was driving my '17 Tundra DC SR5 5.7 4x4 this past week and had an issue pop up. I made an exit off of interstate and heard a loud metallic "ping" and then the steering wheel started the "shimmy". I pulled off and took a look , saw nothing obvious and figured I had thrown a weight.
Took it to the dealer (see attached) and explained the problem. After 3 1/2 hours, I got the truck back and headed home (i live several hours from the dealer). Traffic was real bad so I didn't get up to speed until I was well beyond the dealer. At about 45mph or so, the shimmy started again. Maybe not as pronounced, but close. I called them back and said we still have a problem. They were cool about it and it appears the next step is to warranty out the tires.
I've never had an issue like this on a new vehicle. If you have any thoughts or similar experiences, please chime in.

    Thanks

Thing happen. It’s just a tire from the manufacturer (Michelin) I wouldn’t worry about it. They’ll swap it out with a new one and you should be good to go.

Thing that had me wondering though was it only started after 1000 mi. Wonder why it didn't really present itself from day one? Regular stock Bridgestone P275/R18 tires.

Tire could have been good to Go when the mounted and balanced, but as it started to break in so to speak the issue arose.

Tire cords break at anytime, so it could be 10 miles or 10000 miles. Hard to say.
