So the set screw was loose and the ring popped and the coil is pressed up... I got coil compressors but it doesn't seem to be enough to compress the coil to put ring back on... Help please

One suggestion is to try having one or two people stand on the brake disk or outer hub with lug nuts on. It has worked for me in an emergency. If you can have another person step on the brakes or use a 2x4 to push brake pedal down. It in no was a proper way but worked in a emergency.

I loosened the lower control arm bolts and undid the two bolts under the brakes to separate the lower arm from everything to allow full droop then I tried to compress the spring's but it was bringing up the bottom of coil not from top down

Ok I understand, Mcpherson strut compressors will not work on our coil springs. If you have a coil spring compressor use eye protection and tighten even more on the compressor preferably on the lower side to attempt the rethreading of the holder. Also unbolt the sway bar from the lower for more travel.

Can you safely take the bolts off the bottom of the coil shock assembly off to remove it?

I'd loosen as much as you need to do that you can confirm there's no compression in the spring... Then remove to reassemble.

Try easing the two bolts attaching the lower ball joint, leave enough thread to hold the load if needed.

To give the LCA full movement, release the sway bar and then loosen the two 24mm bolts that hold the LCA to the truck AFTER you've marked up the alignment washers although they shouldn't move.

If after all that, there's still compression in the spring, and if you have a ball joint separator (NOT THE FORK KIND) you can get an extra half inch by backing off the upper ball joint nut... Still leaving some threaded to support the load, then separate UCA from knuckle.

This should have taken out all the compression and allowed you to remove the whole coilover assembly.

Take to a comfy bench reassemble using spring compressors, and reverse the process above....
