    I have noticed gaps in the rain channel's on the roof of my 2017 Tundra TRD Off Road. My Tacoma's were not like this and no vehicle I have ever had have been like this. I am assuming this is the way Tundras are since the gaps are the same on both sides but I also have a worry about cleaning them out. It has been my experience that sediment and leaves and tree seeds can settle in gaps like these and once they settle they can be hell to get cleaned out. None of my vehicles have ever had front fender rust or door rust because I always flush out all sediment and the leaves that collect there.

    Any idea's or comments:

    A quick search on rain channel didnt bring anything up. Let me know if you remember or run across it again.

    Yes, this guy was right:

    The short version: we all climbed up on our trucks and checked. And figured out we all have that same gap.

    That was a tricky one to find. Ended up searching for double sided tape. :D

    Yep the gap sucks. Bad design but probably has the function of allowing expansion.

    Maybe, But none of the vehicles I have owned have ever had a gap like this and like I said anytime you get sediment or debris sitting wet for extended periods of time it will break through the clear coat and start to eat at the paint.

    I think you could fill the gap carefully with some black silicone caulk and eliminate the risk of water pooling there. In fact, it’s probably what i will do.

    Not that I’ve heard of, but it seems pretty obvious.

    Hmm...
    Take a part off the truck that is working ok and installed by the factory, go to the dealership and order it, go back to the dealership and get it, pay dealership price, install it and it’s good
    Or...
    Go to the local hardware store and spend $5.00 and be done the same afternoon.
    Wondering which way to go?

    @TheBeast
    Sorry about my sarcasm, it’s a weakness of mine. It’s good of you to point out another solution. I’m sure glad you found that and posted it.

    Mine has it as well. Thinking about using a bead of black silicone and be done with it.
