My local tint shop mentioned being able to put a clear ceramic film on the windshield that will help block UV light and heat, has anyone done this and if so what was your experience?

    Thank you,

    Paul

I had a buddy do this to his truck and loves it. Although I think he went with 50% and I didn't even notice till he pointed it out. I am planning to do this before summer to help keep the car cooler.

    I wouldn't do it.
It's nice because it keeps the car cooler ceramic tint makes certain things "blurry". My sisters car has it and you notice it especially at night.
Headlight, street lamps etc have a weird little haze to them. Hard to explain but it really messed with my eyes. Just my experience.

That would bug me. Tint is tough at night on side windows, I can't imagine the windshield, however light it may be.

    Flux capacitor!
I had my front windshield done with a tint to help reduce the UV rays. It's great! If you experience a blurred view from the tint its more than likely because the installer used a cheap grade of film. A good quality tint should not fade or be blurry.

Just like @1UPPER said I totally aggreee. I have 3m crystalline 70% on my windshield and it's one of the best things I have done. Keeps the truck cooler without out it being dark. I also put it on top of the rear windows since the factory tint doesn't have uv protection. It's just privacy glass.

I have 50% ceramic tint :anonymous: entire front windshield. Its Not to dark at all but it is amazing when it comes to blocking the UV and sun!

I went with 50% myself. I found that my eyesight adjusted to it initially driving at night. During the day, the tint cuts down the glare and I find myself not wearing sunglasses at all. With that said, I decided to tint the other two vehicles.

80% on my windshield and it works great! Don't notice any weird glare at night and helps with the sun during the day.
