Air bag helper springs

I been doing a lot of towing with my 2012 tundra sr5 4.6 and I mean a lot of heavy. tractors, mini excavators, bob cats, rock, sand and my boat. the truck handle it all power wise but sometimes the weight makes the back end set low. So I been looking in to the firestone spring helper bags. Has anyone used them? are they worth the money and time to install?
I am wanting on with an air compressor and one that self levels. Which I have yet to find.

what would yall recommend?

 

I put the firestones on my truck and on a buddy's tundra as well. With 10k behind it picked the rear end up and cut down on the nose bounce drastically. Works great for my camper too. I have a WD hitch but the bags pick it up a lot. Without weight it even adds some lift to the back. I did not add a compressor to mine I just fill them with my one I keep in the truck or at a gas station. The valve on mine is mounted on the hitch frame. I defiantly recommend it!

 

I had them on my tacoma which bottomed out if I had back seat passengers, i loved the bags, very easy to use, they were more for weight in back seat or the bed, than towing. Install was easy and I could add 10psi to each bag with a bicycle pump in about 20 pumps. No need for a compressor for most of us. Make sure you plumb them to an air fill nozzle independently, don't use a T fitting with one fill valve, the air can transfer bag to bag that way, which is bad when loads shift.
You may also consider a WD hitch as mentioned above to help your issue and tow safely, it may still sag a bit but it distributes the weight better than air bags, which just lift the rear and prevent sagging and bottoming out.

 

I have been thinking about adding air bags as well. I will be towing a travel trailer and have worried about what it will do to the truck.

Both read that they’ll fit on a 2016 Tundra.

 

I always have heard great things about Firestone airbags. Never heard of the Airlift bags.

 

I had Firestone ride rights on a Tacoma I had, they are great. Very easy install. I'll be getting a set for my tundra, in the near future.

 

I run the firestone airbags with daystar cradles. The airlifts have an internal bump stop that causes a rougher ride. 10k with the firestones and they're great.

 

Did you install the Firestone Air Bags yourself?

Yes I did, at the same time I did my bilstiens. Easy install since my truck has only seen one Minnesnowta winter. But since I drive alot of dirt roads I was just about covered in dirt. I ran the airlines to my toolbox just easier for me to hit them with a 12v aircompressor.

I love the winjets I've only seen one other tundra in mn with them. 0 problems and I've had them on for about 75k.

 

I have looked at these, they look great. Love the wireless part of it.

 

I like the win jets I just worry about condensation and the like. Since you’ve got 75k miles on yours it would seem that condensation isn’t a problem. Thanks!!

 

I wash my truck about every 2 weeks and haven't noticed any condensation. Now my stock headlights on my driverside had a rubber gasket loose where the headlight goes and that had condensation everytime I washed the truck. I've heard a few guys having problems very few. But out of all the aftermarket tails or heads I've had these are built pretty well. But make sure you buy the legit winjets and not the Chinese knockoffs that look exactly the same.
