    Hello all!

I've been doing quite a bit of research and had a few questions regarding leveling my 04 DC 4x4. I measure 4.5 inches tire to fender up front and 7 in the rear, so 2.5 inch lift would be perfectly level. My questions:

    1. Why do we only get 1.6 inches out of that 5100? They don't recommend the top notch for DC 4x4.

    2. Rancho quick lifts seem too cheap... Does anyone have experience with them?

    3. How vital is the diff drop?

I'm only working with about $1k out the door (parts, install, alignment, etc.) and I won't be doing any aggressive off-roading. I'm leaning towards the OME coilovers, but that won't leave much room for more mods.

    Thanks in advance!

    Everything. Literally.
Are you set on leveling it with shocks or have you looked into the block set ups, like pro comp?

The Rancho quick life is legit. My buddy’s got it in his truck. Pretty smooth ride, easy install.

I don’t think you would need to work about a diff drop unless you were going over 3.
I’m no suspension guru, but I researched for weeks before I got my lift and that’s what I was told over and over.

can't go wrong with OME, but you'll need shackles or a block in the rear. why not save some cash for a little longer and get a little more room to decide?

Just going to share some my personal experience, hopefully it helps you.

I too have a 04 dc 4x4 with 5100’s, at first I had it on the highest setting with 275/60-20 and a 1 inch block in the back. It rode a little harsh on the top setting and at first I didn’t do the diff drop, and i slung axle grease everywhere lol

So yes the diff drop is vital but the good thing is it’s super cheap so just do it from the start.

I got tired of the stiff ride, even though it handled well I dropped it 1 notch to the second highest and went with 285/75-16’s it rides way better now, but mostly it’s because of the tires, the one notch difference was minor as in ride comfort. Overall the 5100’s its a good bang for buck setup.

If you do the 5100’s just in the front on the second to highest setting without the block in the back, it will be pretty close to level and you can fit 33’s

Thanks for the quick responses. I'm definitely not opposed to blocks and shocks in the back. The local shop here quoted me $800 for 5100 installs, which included alignment. I figured for that price, I'd go with complete pre-assembled coilover and install myself.

Oh and that was $800 for just two 5100 on the front...

I just installed 6inches pro comp lift on my 2017 tundra. Everything is pretty awesome, looking good and drive very smooth but i had a problem when i make u turn. I couldnt make wider turn like a stock one, is that normal when you run bigger tires and wheels? Or something going wrong after lift? Tks
