running boards , TRD sway bar and tundra 08 SR5 wheels. FRACmod, pop&lock and backup sensors installed .
I bought a used 15 SR DC 28K miles and did some similar things . You may want to check out the TRD sway bar , it is one of the best bang for your buck mods out there.

Air bags are in, along with the daystar cradles. easy install. also, got a info switch to replace my blank. unfortunately, my grade model is missing a couple of connections so all i can do is toggle between fahrenheit and celsius on the temperatures. a couple pics of the seat covers. they were half the price of the decent seat covers and a quarter the cost of the expensive ones; for $800 bucks for the expensive ones, i'll let me seats get scuzzy and then get them recovered. these don't look great and they are a bit sloppy, but they are seat covers.

next mod has begun. was hoping to have it all wired up this weekend, but with the colorado association of 4wd clubs meeting saturday and having to pick up the raffle rig, the one day that's not supposed to snow is shot, so hopefully next weekend i can finish. hooked it up to my power pack to check it out though.

cab leds are a HUGE improvement.

today, i was supposed to finish wiring the bed lights and figure out why my "do a burnout" and abs lights occasionally light up. i managed to accomplish neither. i did figure out why i threw a code for "tire pressure" (it was enough to show up on the health report a friend ran, but not enough to trigger the idiot light).
    20180203_172742.jpg
and i did stop to get pricing on tinting the windows last week and instead got the windows tinted last week

got the turd sway bar installed a couple weeks ago. then, put it to work a few days. other than that, it's been sitting.
    20180208_164825.jpg
today, i finally got rid of the crappy Quake led's i had in the grill. i guess they were worth trying for the price and one is still good, although i don't know what i'll do with it. rigid went inside the grill, was about as painless an install as possible. a few notches here and there and it bolted right in.

been a while since i've done anything to the tundra outside of make it work. i put more miles on it in one year than the previous owner did in five, much of it was towing or hauling. i've had almost 3300 lbs in the bed (the air bags were seriously pissed off, but held up. thanks goodyear!). the 2018 colorado association of 4wd clubs raffle rig has sucked up all my time, but i did manage to get one more thing almost knocked off the list (need to figure out mic mounting).
i bought a new kenwood for one of my land cruisers last december, finally mounted it in july, which meant the yeasu that was in there could now go in the tundra. i didn't want it to be blatantly obvious. want to keep my truck nice looking but fairly plain. so, when not in use the head and mic get stored away. now you see it now you don't

gave a little bit more love to p.f. today. added a little something to make it stand out from all the other silver toys. still need to finish the other side, clean off the residue and put a coat of wax on.20181007_115632.jpg

next, i started replacing brake pads. i'm at 46k and a lot of it has been in town and towing and loaded, so i figured i had to be close. not as close as i'd like to be, but at least i won't have to worry about doing pads in the snow. i'll stash the old pads in the rafters for a rainy day.

a bit of an undesired mod...was backing in the dark down the side of the road and there was a chunk of angle iron sticking up apparently....d'oh.

fought the clip together dash, but got the stereo in. now i get the fun of learning to use it. and have to figure out how to get my cheap Amazon camera to work with it. amazing the amount of crap wiring you have to fit behind it to get everything working together, but the steering wheel controls appear to work just fine. i'll have to test the bluetooth still

reviews so far of the kenwood ddx6905s are completely unimpressed. seriously thinking of ripping it out and putting my stock stereo back in. i wanted to get rid of the stock stereo because i can't get rid of the stupid sirius stations and there's not a screen for back up camera or google maps. this radio either android auto, which doesn't work with newer phones, or weblink, which uses waze which locked up the first time i used it and, after reading reviews, does it a lot now. weblink has a 2.2 star rating, which is probably higher than it deserves. haven't figured out if my aftermarket camera works since i have to find a different way to power it now that i don't have it powered through the aftermarket monitor it did have. still have a bunch of aps i can't get rid of (like sirius) so i have to scroll through all that crap. the radio pro integration unit appears to work fine except only fits behind the radio and to program it you have to hit a button on the unit so the dash has to be apart.

what'cha wanna know ;) started studying back in the 80s but the choice of learning morse code or going to the bar was an easy choice. picked it back up when morse code was no longer required for a tech license.

i replaced the yaesu in my cruiser with a kenwood and figured the tunny would be a good place for the yaesu. remote face, so i mounted it in the business card holder and keep the face and the mic in the console when not in use so i can keep the inside clean. main unit is mounted under the driver's seat. powered off the battery. goes to a hood lip mount antenna on the drivers side.

still need to do the battery cable upgrade, but in the meantime, said goodbye the the flimsy oe terminals and put some military terminals in their place. ignore the positive cable connections. they're too small to fit the large bolt . that will be taken care of when i build new cables. and i just cleaned and "coated" the terminals 2000 miles ago with a product from certified labs. the product is crap. other products work much better.

can't believe it's been over a year since i backed into a chunk of steel and blew out my rear bumper. i finally got a new oe bumper and am just waiting on the center plastic piece to finish it off. no more dents/blowouts/sheetmetal screws holding things together. the airbag valves will be fixed again. both license plate lamps will be working again...can't wait. also ordered my demello hidden winch plate. winch is here waiting to go in. truck has seen a lot of hard use, so i gotta give him some love ;)
