Fixing up a T100

    I purchased a 1998 Toyota T100 at a really good price yesterday. When I bought it I knew that it would need some TLC. I bought it as a daily driver so that I stop putting so many miles on the Tundra.

    However one of the major issues I have found SO FAR is there is a MAJOR rear differential fluid leak. I know where it is coming from, I just don't know the name of the seal. It is leaking at the point where the driveshaft enters into the rear differential.

    Would that just be a called a "Rear differential Input shaft seal"? If not what is it called so I can order the part from Toyota?

    Also it looks pretty straightforward to change out, are there any surprises I should expect?

    It looks like it has been going on for a while. Haha!
    The guy said it seeps a little from the rear differential. In either case i still got a good deal...

    Rear differential pinion seal?

    Calibrated Power 5 Tune pack, Allison 1000 tune, PPE deep trans pan, Cold/Hot CAC pipes, Banks CAI, PCV reroute, resonator delete, S&B 62 gal fuel tank, B&W GN hitch
    Pinion seal. It is like 11-20.00 depending where you get it.

    Lube it up good and use a seal install tool so you don't tear it or install it crooked. You can rent them for free at your local parts store.

    It has 221,000 Miles. I will post some pictures up after it is cleaned. :)

    Right! I could not tell it was that bad when I was looking at it because the rain was poring down and it was in the parking lot of a concrete manufacturer. Luckily I consider it a relatively small issue, as long as they have never drove it extremely low on differential fluid, if they have that rear end might go out, still a relatively cheap fix.

    I already bought several cans of engine degreaser and laid out my 'old clothes' for the job. I figure i will power wash it first to make the job easier/cleaner. The transfer case might be leaking as well... Looks like I am going to have a busy weekend.

    No hunting for me!

    I found this forum because i'm restoring(to some degree) my 1997 T100. It may be this part right here...
    Part No.90311-44006 SEAL, OIL
    (FOR REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER)
    Replaced By 90311-44007 Manufacturer Toyota. This genuine Toyota part is guaranteed by Toyota's factory warranty.
